You can look in the Statistics page next to a game you like, and mouse over the people who held WRs for a time and check their name. Then you can look in their profile and look at their obsoleted runs to find the former WR
IDK how you could find every WR for every game, but in my opinion, I don't understand most WRs for random games, and for me they're not enjoyable to watch unless the runner explains it (which rarely happens in attempts) so I would just rather watch WRs for specific games.
I would agree with requiring videos, the similar games I set up all had video requirements. Instead of photoshopping an image, someone could just re-upload someone else's image to get TWR anyway. Image verification was convenient but it's too open to cheating.
However, an alternative idea would be to have image runs allowed, but hidden by default, in case someone doesn't want to record. I wouldn't want the current runs to be hidden though (especially my 0:55 which took almost perfect RNG and would take ages to get again).
Sometimes the graphs in the statistics page don't work properly e.g. currently, this one https://www.speedrun.com/cblind/gamestats I've had it before and it will fix itself in a month or so when the x axis changes, but it will probably happen again in other games, so I thought I would post the bug here
Yes, it will need video verification This is the one I use: https://obsproject.com/
This thread is about a year old, so ignore this if you have found something, but I have something that might be useful to you. There is a program called Sikuli which senses when an image is on-screen, and can perform an action. I have actually used it to create an autosplitter for a webgame, and it works perfectly. I detect when an image is on the screen, and then press the split button. If you know Java, Python or C you can set it up pretty easily and if you don't there are already templates for autosplits online.
On the subject of the portal mod, there has been an actual hack (although small) made here https://youtu.be/ayr4diHq-O
I would like to request the sm64 portal mod Portal Mario 64. You can shoot portals like in the original portal games Here is the original video This is a speedrun I did of it Possible categories: 0 Star, 16 Star (even though the glitch to pass the 1st and 2nd star doors are really easy), 70 Star and 120 Star. I could also add no-a press runs (the portal makes them very possible) and some misc categories if people want.
