Pinning this thread as its important information honestly and does help a lot in routing through the maps of this game.

Cheers, mooglemod. Would be nice to see you combat this run, since you're the only other person who tried to speedrun this game haha.

Previous super mod Stormlight proceeded to cause further mod abuse after saying he would "stand down" and decided to nuke the entire board. Every category and run was removed and he left a mocking post in its place for a bit.

We reported his actions to SRcom staff. Right now, we're waiting for hopefully a full recovery of the board, but right now only the full game categories have returned and Stormlight has been banned from SRcom aswell as removed as mod here.

IL's for each level i can maybe see... but not for categorizing them. Maybe for the entire level as a whole, or just main missions, sure. But with things like the Contests, separating them for much else doesn't add much.

All Skillz School is kinda an interesting idea but besides someone like me, you'd really need to find people who give enough of a shit to do Skillz School, especially after the tutorial bits of it. Trying to do Skillz School on stuff like the Mall, Itchy and Scratchy Land and Gorge is a massive pain, all things considered, so it won't get much love. The game already has barely to no love anyway speedrun wise since i'm the only runner who came in after years of nothing but a few any% runs.

And lastly, been wanting something about the character stuff for a while, including if we can use unlocked characters or not for things like 100% or any%. Still unsure about that one.

You legitimately wrote down in your response to the "confusion" here "The only valid purpose I can see is for database/history/archive/statistics purposes" over hobby runs and newcomer runs.

You wrote down the exact purpose of sites like this and why they exist.

You wrote that down, knowing full well what that means and why.

And yet you and your team still went through with this instead of rethinking your decisions, thinking that this will "better" the board and make it more "competitive".

Fun fact: It doesn't. It puts people off from running when you act this strict. It scares away newcomers. It can cause the game you run the board for to go closer to dead status in terms of activity. It also makes your board, your community and the entire mod team look bad to everyone's eyes, both the speedrunning community and the general audience. It does the opposite of encouraging competitiveness.

You do not deserve to run these boards if this is the kind of elitist attitude you wish to bring to the wider community of speedrunning. Please reconsider as soon as possible and retract this change, especially since this goes against the site's guidelines.
every run that i made after my unban was legit and is still getting verifying, the run i posted on yt is a thing, not the runs that i posted on speedrun.com
Dude. We've seen every video you've uploaded to that channel. It's all stolen TASes. You have even shown your tases live on the Twitch account you keep linking to Nothing you have submitted has been legitimate. It's all be stolen TASes.
also did you read my post? i said that when i get unbanned i instantly removed the tased run, bc i posted it before i get banned, and i get unbanned bc i asked it
I did read the post. You did not just do what you said. You made multiple accounts to evade the ban, and you were attacking Spike because of your own consequences and lying through your teeth, like you're doing right now. Don't try to lie your way through this, it isn't going to work.
i said "i don't care" or something like that, literally bc you continue to say that i don't care about what you've said to me
Oh it is not at all in that manner, Portic

Western Australia, AustraliaXindictive2 years ago
i know that what i did is ridicolous but if you still want to see me as a cheater or something like that is not my problem.
So first off:
Portic is the user that has been able to successfully (at least to your community) been able to pass off turboa's TAS as their own work, that you accepted initially, to which they would then mirror off from their Twitch to a YouTube Stream.
Pretty sure Spikestuff is referring to the video they hyperlinked in their comment which is this: which is turboa's TAS on your account that you're passing off as a speedrun still. Second, you have lovingly decided to avoid mention of your many attempts at ban evasion, because after the Portic account got banned, you tried to make more accounts to get around it just to resume doing what you're doing, with "Pangrattato" and "myhonestreaction", to bring up a few, before you managed to get the Portic account back, which by the way, you really don't deserve it at this point if you're gonna act like THAT and then CONTINUE to use TASes and basically be a cheater and a thief. And lastly, your attitude has been very evident. Stuff like "that is not my problem" and "i dont care" is part of why alot of us believe you don't give any kind of care or anything about what we've been saying to you and such, that you'll just keep doing this without any consideration to your actions, even when your account has been banned for being a cheater already. I banned you from submitting to boards that i run such as Bubsy 3D where you did this very act, but Spikestuff was being VERY charitable by trying to assist you in the right direction. It's very clear you're not going to stop though, so while Spike has asked for the board mods to remove your run and would rather have you actually make an actual attempt with a video, as they always say when there's no video in modern day runs "no vid, no did", i will ask you directly, Portic. Please leave speedrun.com and don't come back if this is what you're going to keep doing. The Untitled Goose Game mods will be informed of you too, since we're 100% certain you're submitting another TAS that exists by someone else and saying its "your own". If you were curious about speedrunning, you would be doing your own runs legitimately, not this that you've been doing again and again for well over a few weeks now. This isnt welcome on any board, so please stop submitting stolen TASes to various boards.

Useful for emulator, but with the fair chance the game runs the fastest on console with PS2 and such, trying to find a keyboard that console will work with isnt the easiest since its limited, and finding adapters for it isnt that great either. Sony was that stingy to make sure very few supported so that you mostly go for their "official" mouse and keyboard and such. The game doesnt get many runners anyway (i haven't ran it in a long while) and using keyboard for PS1 is incredibly niche, so we prob won't see anyone except very dedicated runners use it.

Nice to see my discovery of the ? finally being used by someone other than me.

Western Australia, AustraliaXindictive2 years ago

Been a while since i looked at the board and im happy to see more people running the PS2 version, even if it is a bit more "unfun" with its skips and feel. Though there is something i noticed that's made me feel... weird about the rules for PS2 compared to every other board.

Why is everyone, except for me and Saiyanz, ending after getting the 12th bronze medal, and NOT doing the Arctic Randal race bit to get the ending? Its not like the rules of how the game work has changed really, progression still works practically the same to PSX and PC, yet neither of those have this rule change either, only PS2, which makes no sense. So i'd just like to know why this rule difference exists, because the way PS2 version ends is no different to the other versions and this seems way too early of a spot to end a run. And with a previous suggestion by Saiyanz years ago, it would only be at best a 1 minute increase on times to have players do Arctic Randal, get to finish without even winning it and end there with the ending cutscene, same end spot as PSX/PC.

The following rules will be updated and in effect on Feb 15th 2022

When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used. BizHawk is able to display the status bar below the game window. That must be displayed. DuckStation will has specific requirements below. You are able to run without showing the window. You must also state what emulator is being used when submitting your run.

Accepted Emulators:

When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used. BizHawk is able to display the status bar under window capture, that must be displayed. RetroArch will have specific requirements below. You are able to run without showing the window. You must also state what emulator is being used when submitting your run.

 • Select either mednafen mode option.

RetroArch Dedicated Rules: You must show settings of the core settings before/after the run. Your settings must match this:

 • CPU Dynarec: Disabled (Beetle Interpreter) [Default]
 • Cycles: 128 (Default)
 • GTE Overclock: Disabled
 • GPU Overclock: 1x (native)
 • Skip Bios: Disabled.
 • Access Method: Synchronous
 • Loading Speed: 2x (native)
 • PAL (European) Video Timing Override: OFF Recommended: Keep PGXP Disabled Custom settings are allowed for anything that isn't mentioned such as resolution.

For the quick answer on "why did we drop ePSXe?" That emulator for PC has not been updated in 4 years and despite being the "most accurate emulator"^ it relies on plugins compared to the other four options.

^Due to being closed source, it was able to get away with faking the scores on the PS1 Test Suite. Games that are tested to what ePSXe states it "passed" has outright failed.

Hi there. Even though this game rarely gets runs, i just thought i'd make it clear on what is fine/required with the 100% category on both full game and level leaderboard.

 1. You don't have to get every yarn ball. 100% doesn't really take notice on yarn nor does it really count towards 100% on the game, it only counts to score. So when it comes to bosses, you can beat em MUCH faster than people have been if you just avoid the whole yarn drop thing if possible.

 2. You have to do it from a new save/progress erased before you begin it. The reason for this is because WSB doesn't do New Game stuff. Your progress is saved for good unless you remove it from the cloud and your drive. You can tell if you're doing a new save or not because of the requirements on the top left. If any of them/all of them are done (they have yellow text, not gray, for instance), then its not a new save. For PC, this will mean going into appdata and such and finding the save that way and such. Speaking of those requirements...

 3. 100% just means those 3 requirements for every level. You just have to get all the randomly spawned keys and unlock the gates, get all the shirts so that the game counts it as all shirts collected and get through it all without dying once (so no death abuse). This is REALLY difficult to verify when those requirements are already done in saves when people do their runs, which is why they usually get rejected. Bosses kinda get a pass due to everything being easy to verify based on your lives as you always only have the one shirt and such, but on normal levels? If you don't do it on a fresh save, you're getting rejected because we can't tell if the game actually counted your shirts or not. Even if you got all those lives, the requirement can still end up saying you missed one based on if you got hit and lost your shirt. So yea, just incase you're wondering, 100% is also no damage for the most part.

So just thought i'd make that clear if your run ended up getting rejected on 100% even though you seemed to have done everything. Remove your saves when you do them and make sure none of the requirements are done prior to beginning your run. Focus on completing all 3 of them in the run. Don't worry about the yarn, it doesn't count towards 100%, only towards score. That's 100% in a nutshell with Woolies Strike Back. Cheers.

I can be cool with that. Though there's still the issue with the penalty additions with some characters individual story's levels. Best to know if penalties will be added to the time or not for those incase you guys decide to go past Z for this game.
