Run listed for historical purposes. Video and RTA time unavailable.
we have located this versionbtw. join the discord if you need it and you're interested in running.
i know we memed it up, but, I honestly think this should only really be retroactively required at-most for #1 times and/or to break up tied-to-the-second times. I'm probably the person that would benefit the most from this rule and I don't think it's really fair to other runners.
Also, a decent amount of my submitted times are my own ex-PB's but other are people's ongoing PB's. I don't really have any desire to go back and frame count ex-PB's personally.
I'll go edit in MS for my AH Expert Retri run when I have a chance, honestly thought I already did back when we got the run.
I guess maybe we disagree. But I think the only reason a run should be removed from the leaderboards is if the run was cheated/spliced/etc.
I skimmed this thread tbh, but, I dont understand why the category wouldn't just be reset like everything else when there's significant patch changes.
ex: new heroes in practice range, etc.
Add me on KoiNoYokan#11553
tentatively planning on doing this on the 30th. Need friends on PC/NA that are down to que QP together for a bit.
probably easiest to just time it on your phone with like a stopwatch to know your rough time and then just retime it later (or edit a timer into the video if you have those skills).
personally, i always have to tab out to check my times and it works alright.
@Komrade is that the 95~ish key one? I was looking at that a while back I think. how do you like it?
Nice old photo of my keyboard. Filco Majestouch 2 with ivory finish and DSA black blank keycaps.
Yeah that's fair. lmao
The game is most likely going on sale for 50% off during the next event. Also, I heard that console players can make as many accounts as they want with a single copy of the game. Not sure how true that is.
Obviously, this isn't really meant to be a super serious category though.
Planning on buying another smurf once the game goes on sale during the event. Want to do something interesting to try and make leveling it to unlock competitive a little bit more interesting.
-
Timing would start as soon as you que for your first game.
-
Time ends as soon as you pull up your profile.
-
No restrictions on queing with people, playing certain game modes, etc. The only restriction would be NOT doing this run during a double XP time period (afaik, only one has ever happened).
Probably won't do this for a few weeks, but, let me know if you're interested in doing this. I know according to the current rules it won't be added as a category until then.
Here's some quick math/strategy.
278,000 XP to level 25 4.2252 xp/sec while in a party in a game. Therefore before factoring anything else, 65,795 seconds (18 hours 16 minutes 35 seconds) of in-game time needed for level 25.
Time saves:
- 35 seconds for each match finished.
- 118 seconds for each match won.
- 35 seconds for end of match gold medal exp.
- 71 seconds for each consecutive match played.
- 94 seconds for backfill.
- 355 (x2 for 710) seconds for First Win of the Day.
Time lost:
- How much time it takes to find a que and finish hero select.
- Failing to do the above listed things to an acceptable degree.
Strategy:
- Always play with a friend. (+20% EXP)
- Spam QP to avoid XP penalties in other game modes and get consecutive match XP.
- Try to win as many games as possible. (Saves 2 minutes, per additional win)
- Start the 'run' at a time of day that allows for you to get 2x First Win of the Day.
I'm estimating that this probably takes somewhere between 12-16 hours of real time to complete if the above strategy is executed properly.
Personally it just seems to clutter up the leaderboard by adding additional tabs for something that is functionally the same run with different settings. By having it in more tabs, it also appears like it is entirely different category, while it's really just a setting IMO. I would argue that All Heroes Normal and Story Mode Normal runs have much much more in common for example, than Legendary All Heroes and Normal All Heroes runs; which are currently classified under a different tab. Simply put, it's just more concise this way.
I haven't modded for a speedrun.com community, long time lurker, but I think the easiest solution is just to add another setting under the main Uprising and Retribution tab.
Something like so the settings are: {PC/Console} {All Heroes/Regular} {Normal/Hard/Expert/Legendary}
