I don't really want to move the episode runs to ILs because the transition would involve deleting all the records and putting them back up, and they're quite a lot of times. And they aren't exactly levels themselves, but consist of many short ones put together. With rules of the game, it's very clearly one level and I just need to delete and resubmit 5 records.
I have actually been thinking of real IL boards for each boss arena, though I don't think it would be very competitive until we can easily record milliseconds. You'd basically select from the boss selection menu.
I feel pretty hesitant on having a new demo category (having boards on WIP editions of games feels iffy to me), but maybe if others don't mind, I might add it.
If anyone is wondering what happened to categories episodes 1, 2 and 3 - I found they were too segmented from the fullgame itself to be worth considering as main categories. You can still find them in the misc. tab, untouched.
I will probably also move New Rules of the game% as an individual level, since I just realized the new rules essentially work as one. The rules and records will remain the same.
Hey, not a runner of this game myself, though I figured someone here might have the answer, that might actually be helpful if I decide to run the game. Does anyone run Bleed in windowed mode?
As a single screen-haver, I've always wanted to stream the game windowed but be able to move the screen and still interact with chat on the same PC (I don't like using my phone for it).
I've tried DXwnd, but it locks me inside the window completely. So, any way to get around this?
Transparent PNG support seems really shaky. Even though the images appear as transparent in art programs that support them, when I upload those, they appear with a neon green background. I got around this by saving them as a GIF, though I shouldn't really need to do this.

There's a general side, with some channels purely dedicated for speedrunning. As a very small community, I'm OK having them merged together. I feel like some of the casual audience may be interested in watching runs, but I won't let them mess with the speed game rules and regulations.
In a nutshell, I think we should just make them into a parameter - and if there is dispute about them being in the same boards, we can split them apart.
The easiest way to tell them apart is if there's health in the later boss arenas.
I stand by that separate categories should only be made for those willing to play them. And then only be split if they make a significant time difference.
Zeta on easiest settings probably wouldn't make much if any of a difference at all if it was optimal. For Delta, it makes more of a difference since you need to be close up to get max damage.
I've just started running the game though, maybe it is more optimal to not damage boost, I just like doing that at times because it can keep me longer in midair, or leave in a better position. Yet again, for Zeta this is not needed due to long range. To go back and grab health does often take some time, however.
Punchy is more interested in playing on the easiest settings too.
I have some more runs on the easiest settings, waiting for a new parameter or subcategory to be made.
So, I overlooked that runs require the default settings, and I've been playing with the easiest settings the entire time. Oops.
That would make all my runs invalid. However, is it really necessary to ban different settings? Lots of leaderboards I see just split easier modes into separate categories, or stick parameters onto them.
I've organised boards with individual episodes before, they usually get put in misc (if they don't lend themselves to being ran as individual levels,) or ILs (if the game lets the player run the the levels individually - especially if there's a crapload of 'em). For the IL case, you basically put the episode as the fronting category and then put the ILs inside them as separate "categories".
I'm not sure if the game allows you to run levels individually yet, so idk what's best.
Looks pretty good, but something looks off about it;
-
The foreground stars seem to have been set to fill the screen, rather than tile making it look blurry and blown up. Uncheck fit to screen, it's meant for hi-res images - this one is anything but.
-
It seems the background was set to move, rather than the foreground.
You can use the in-game menu space background as a reference, that's what my idea is based off of.
Hey, I really like making leaderboard layouts, and have made many well-received ones before. (check Freedom Planet, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and Grapple Force Rena for examples).
Anyways, my idea is to make the background ripped assets from the menu. The dev has kindly provided these, I just added working transparency for the one in-front.
BACKGROUND:
Click advanced, set background to center and repeat to both. Check enable foreground.
FOREGROUND:
Click advanced, add movement speed, set to slow. Foreground position set to center. Tiling must be set to both.
As for layout colours. Maybe the text can be a pale whitish-blue, akin to the title text? I'll leave it at that for now.

They get used a lot more these days, especially streamable.

This kind of thing is more suited to private mailing the game mods or the corresponding game forums.
Iirc though, I think you can edit your pending entries
I know this thread is a month old but...
Overclocked. Actual freeware, not freemium. Though you can only get it on steam. I'd say it's one of the more challenging free games out there, but I love the sense of flow, it doesn't even feel like freeware...just turn on dedicated dash and moving feels so much better.
Here's an IL from it I did:
I'm fairly active in the heave-ho server and speedrun.com.
p.s why doesnt Lodestar still not have a runner role?
Somehow, this run is considered obsolete, even though it is shorter: https://www.speedrun.com/overclocked/run/zgko75jy
It seems the bug is that if you don't put in RTA (I screwed up the real timer, this didn't put it in my submission), it automatically assumes the run is longer. That is a load of nonsense.
A small suggestion;
If a sub-games/resources page is empty, simply do not show it in the sidebar at all. This makes it all the cleaner. In other words - if it can be done for discord sidebar links, why can't it be done for other empty links? Regular users cannot contribute to them, and the majority of games do not have sub-games.
