An other question following the post of Lite about "fast disc speed":

I just made a test on duckstation putting "read speedup from "None" to "2x (Quad Speed)". The result seems to copy the PS2 mechanic for the intermission screen if I push the "start" button (I didn't see any difference elsewhere so far).

I know it is turned on automatically on PS2 but I would like to know if the manipulation I did on duckstation is allowed for speedruns? I am not sure what is the philosopy of that on speedrun.com.

Not a big deal for me right now since I am barely sub 26min.

Hi Guys,

I try to (modestly) speedrun this nice little game. While watching the top 2, I noticed that they were able to skip the text during the inter-mission. They seems to play on the PS2 JAP version.

(in this example, the top 1 is able to skip this screen before "bay area" appears while I have to wait.)

I try to do the same on duckstation PS1 NTSC but so far I am unable to.

My question is:

Is it a skip that I can do on the version I play now? If yes, how to do it? If I figure out the answer, it can save me 1 to 2 seconds every level, which is between 12 and 24 seconds in total.

If you have the answer, even several month after this post, don't hesitate to participate!
