5.0 is the best gamma level to have. Which version are you running, because if it's 1.19+ Mojang fixed the gamma going above 1.0 so it won't be the mods. Due to it no longer being doable in vanilla, you're also not allowed to use mods to increase the gamma for 1.19+, so I'd recommend running a past version if this is the case.
It used to exist, and due to lag abuse we ended up with people getting times of 0.001s with no real skill involved, so it just doesn't make a good category. Sorry
Mojang stopped allowing gamma to be over 1.0 in 1.19 so if you open any version past 1.19, the gamma will reset to 1.0
Nah the rules of speedrunning explicitly say "complete an in-game task as fast as possible without modifying the game or swearing"
(This is a joke, you can absolutely submit a run with an f-bomb, or a hundred f-bombs)
Optifine has never been particularly liked by speedrunners because it makes very small changes to things like how mobs spawn, so isn't technically "the same as vanilla apart from performance", as speedrunning mods are required to be. Performance improving mods are necessary for too many people though, and most versions don't have a better alternative, so these versions allow optifine until something better is eventually found/developed. For 1.15+, sodium is available which does the job much better, so optifine is banned for these versions.
You can't obtain a brewing stand without structures, so the only way curing a zombie villager is possible is if a witch throws weakness at it. Hoping that setup can occur and then getting enough stuff to trade with it would be an incredibly painful to run category
Use this when you want to see more than 1000 places. It always loads https://minecraft-rta-ranking.com/#TheEclipse6
Resource packs are allowed as long as they clearly provide no advantage. Changing the splashes doesn't affect gameplay, so that's fine
All Advancements is officially segmentable (even for co-op), so you'd be allowed to do it in multiple sittings. There's no reason why it would be impossible for two inexperienced players to do it as with multiple sittings there is theoretically infinite time, but it would be insanely difficult and probably take ages to do.
There's plenty of things you can practice for AA, and each of them would save you so much time in the real thing, as well as a guide here https://docs.google.com/document/d/18Iurqcqi3L6LujgMxjO15w66oM_8r5HnFwPNVGR9yk4/edit. I'd recommend doing this and watching several AA runners streams first, and definitely try to complete an any% run before attempting AA.
Explode a door actually sounds quite cool lol. Structures could be loot a buried treasure chest near a village for tnt, and structureless would be craft one and lead a creeper to it. It's a bit rediculous, but would be kinda fun
@Cursed1701 It depends on the version. It's allowed from 1.0 to 1.14 as long as things like clear water and dynamic lights are turned off as there isn't currently a better alternative, but as sodium exists for 1.15+, it's not allowed.
Nah I had this problem once and the run got accepted. Maybe best to leave a note in the description though, just so the mods know.
But it's explicitly disallowed in av categories
I'm assuming this is versions 1.12 to 1.18, as it says advancements. If we assume that with no resets, each version would take around 9 hours from an experienced player as that's how often lightning occurs (i know it isn't needed in 1.12 but it still seems a reasonable estimate), this would take 63 hours to complete and would need to be done in one sitting as av runs are exploitable otherwise. As av has a health warning on it at the moment, I imagine the moderators would hugely discourage an aav run due to the health risks. Also, few people have a computer that could record 63 hours of uninterrupted footage, so it's not practical anyway.
You'd just spawn in a village next to one and mine it, that wouldn't be fun
For most runs, 1.14.4 is the best version because the villagers restock infinitely. 1.15.2 is the best version for a run where most of the trading is done on the first day because the discounts are better, but runs like this are much harder to pull off so to start off, 1.14.4 is the way to go.
This would be a very boring category to run because of how luck based it is even without the seed rng. It's a 1 in approx 200 chance that a drowned spawns with a trident and drops it, and that's not taking into account the chance the drowned kills the player cause of how much damage it does.
It is still in the category extensions extensions though, so if someone does manage it they still have something to show for it. I don't think it's worth having it as an official category though.
As long as you show it in the recording and it's not used for anything considered a glitch it's fine (e.g. don't do it while in lava or falling from a height cause then the 3 seconds of immunity comes into play, unless it's for the glitched category). And don't create or open another world unless you're doing it on another instance, as the files can interact with each other. All Advancements is officially segmentable due to its length and the fact that saving and quitting every few hours here isn't very exploitable, unlike All Versions, so this is completely fine. Just try not to do it too many times in one run.
