When I retimed your run using the video you provided I got 58:22 so I resubmitted your run as 58:22. I don't remember seeing an sort of pauses in the video.
As for your run BOLTZ, your time included the intro cutscene which (if you read the rules) is not considered apart of the run. Because of this we retimed your run from the very first input on the world map. That is why your run was like 2 minutes faster
After much consideration, Romain and I have decided to remove all runs under the Nabbit 100% category for all levels. With this we have decided that from now on we will reject all nabbit 100% IL submissions.
The reason for this is that we (and many others) believe that by completing a level 100% the game recognises that the level has been done 100%. However, once completing a level with nabbit (even if all star coins are collected) the game does not register it towards the star count on the game file.
Unfortunately due to the layout of SRC we cannot remove the nabbit sub category for other sub categories, so it has been clearly stated with in the rules that Nabbit 100% is banned and it will continue to stay like this.
Personally I use an elgato hd 60, however that can be very expensive. If you want to use a capture card I hear that Gvusb2 is a very cheap and reliable alternative.
The cheapest method of recording is to just film your run using a phone or camera of sorts, the only thing that needs to be viewable is the game.
First of all, welcome to nsmbw speedrunning its great to see new runners! :D
Secondly, every runner, currently, manually splits for each split as we do not have an autosplitter developed yet. The best way to accurately split something is to pick a moment when you are not doing anything on the controller, i.e. when you finish a level, and picking a consistent que to split. For example, I split on fade out of every level. As for the last level, timing ends upon hitting the switch, in my opinion, it is safer to hit the switch and then split rather then trying to time it yourself. If you film your runs, mods and even yourself can retime the run so you can accurately determine your time.
If you haven't noticed already, we have added a column for digital/phyiscal game type and Switch/Switch Light Consoles. This is because eventually we will factor load differences between the different game types. More changes to come in the future.
If you are reading this and have a run on the boards can you please change these values.
Thanks -Lachurs
we actually encourage the use of filming with camera's or phones so please be our guest :D
I don’t want this argument going any further so I’m locking this thread. If @lusonice2021 created another thread I am deleting it instantly. As for the ban, eevee warned you land you continued to act immaturely so she just banned you after asking the rest of the mods if we should.
Im confused with what you mean firstly. Secondly why are you complaining about the guides if you havent looked at one of them, you havent put any context into anything whatso ever
Might I add that when the leaderboards first came out, you started spamming the guides with dumb nsmbudx tutorials that, when opened, said something stupid like "just go fast". Complaining that there are no guides for this game is incredibly immature, if you had actually looked you would see 2 guides for both nsmbudx and nsludx created by mchan and I in which we spent hours and even days creating.
So why dont you pack up your attitude and go someplace else.
I thought of this idea a couple years ago with the DS title however, it is not really a good idea because some exits (such as 2-4 secret) cannot be accessed in low%. The idea of making it more challenging doesn't do much in regards to it either, using the penguin suit to speed up levels is already challenging in it of itself because sliding on non-ice platforms kills your speed so you need to jump very often. Other things such as vertical climbing is also challenging to optimize with acorn suit. Staying small mario just to challenge yourself in that terms is a bit counter intuitive because technically no its not anymore challenging to optimize something by restricting yourself in that means.
You should also think about joining the discord server the mods and everyone else are always willing to answer questions and you will hear a response much quicker than the forums. Link is here: https://discordapp.com/invite/VDfrMe7
