I think the level screen works fine for that. You can see all the levels, along with a top 3. Though a large part of that is personal preference of course :)
To me it feels more right to have each event as a level category to me (so 12 levels). That's how the other Olympics games do it too so it'd be nice for consistency.
Then you can use the Full Game runs for things like a Complete all events category.
You also only need one of IGT and RTA if they are the same in the level categories.
I'm not sure if there is a time limit but it's certainly not within the spirit to deliberately get a last places time lol.
You can definitely always upload a better run though. It'll automatically replace your old, worse run on the leaderboard
Dutch on Dutch violence :(
Mooie run kameraad! Voel je vrij om de discord te joinen mocht je verder over de game willen lullen ;)
It's hard to be of any help without videos to see what's actually going wrong. So unless you've already been helped by some in the discord (if you're in there) you should probably post some examples.
It'd be nice if the random game option would take the platform you've filtered on into account. I don't care much for running Atari2600 games for example but they still show up in the random games.
On the moderator's profile it shows two "Games followed" lists, one of them should be games moderated.
Well it was a fun week before you both beat me again lol. I believe your last 3 runs have misinputs in the timing btw, it says .028 instead of .280 for instance
To go with some things that I believe haven't been mentioned yet. The sorting of runs on your profile is kinda silly now. Rather than using the predetermined order by the moderators, it goes with the most recent run.
See below that the levels are all in a funky order. I don't mind having a most recent run option, but there should be a way to sort by the standard way (or maybe I'm just missing it.
In another racing game I run there used to be several levels, with a best lap and race record existing below it. WIth the restructuring of the leaderboards those are now completely mixed together. A way to once again group them would be nice (along with the sorting I mentioned before this). See below what mean. Near the bottom those "Dinarli" records now have one between them as they're no longer grouped and sorted by date.
Overall I think the new design has potential, some parts look really clean. They just needs tweaks to some things first.
I feel like they're a little too short to be truly interesting to run for me. It would also create substantially more work for the mods to basically time every IG level submission 5 times, for little gain (at least that's how it seems).
Though verifying runs is like cocaine for Light so idk, maybe he'll love it
There's been some theorycrafting/routing in the discord about mnimum jumps/minimum hovers (mainly by Seagull iirc) but so far the consensus has been that it will likely be fairly unpopular and a pain in the arse to check for the mods.
It's about 4 years later, but I do agree that some of the ways the leaderboards are set up don't really make a lot of sense. Personally I'd suggest to:
- Remove one of the timing columns in the IL's where necessary. They both measure the same thing, so all it does is clutter the leaderboard and possibly mess up the order (See 1-12 for example).
- As Obiyo said, including with death or deathless is a bit odd for a leaderboard. It doesn't break the leaderboard per se, but it just seems kinda pointless to me.
- I also highly disagree with the rule that Livesplitter is required for full game runs. That way you pretty much force switch players out of running the full game category, or dump them in last place. I'd say either start using the RTA as the standard sorting on the leaderboard, or manually count the IGT for Switch players. This is making the game much less accessible to run!
Less important point is that there are quite a few English mistakes in the rules, let me know if you need any help with that.
Hope you mods read this and respond, I'd appreciate it :)
I had a run on better pace at some point where it genuinely took me longer to hit the rifle than to get to the room lmao. Glad I at least got a decent run in though
It seems that you simply get more entries when you play on another console (Wii/wii U) or if you select a region (none selected and EU gives you two entries as wel). I haven't ran this game yet (planning to tho) so it's not like my opinion is incredibly important but as an "outsider" it looks very weird.
