We had some feedback that some of our written rules had gotten a little out of control and after taking another look at them, I quite agree. I've revised everything we had so it's easier to digest, hope this helps you all!

If anyone has more suggestions for us please don't hesitate to leave us your thoughts either here or on our community discord. Happy running!

Heya, I recently completed and submitted a few runs of each currently available category and thought I might share my thoughts on what I've learnt from doing them as well as make some suggestions about how the leaderboard could possibly be improved going forward. This may be kinnda long as I'd like to address everything in the one post so bare with me.

The only option the game allows you to change is the difficulty, it goes from 1-8 stars and there are 12 matches total with only the last two being the same every time; Sagat and Dictator.

It's probably obvious but I really feel like this category could do with more difficulty sub-options than just allowing anything where everyone would ofc choose difficulty 1 - the opponents essentially just walk into your attacks and sometimes don't even try to fight back so it becomes RNG at a certain point where if they block once you lose time because it's just that easy - I feel like keeping this as the only option would do more harm than good because of all this. After trying a bunch of difficult difficulties, I feel like sub-categories for 1, 4 and 8 would be the best fit.

Akuma is selectable with a code on the character select screen but doesn't feel as powerful as you'd expect, he doesn't even have a raging demon as far as I could tell, just a super fireball and his combo'ing felt pretty limited because of how janky this game's hitboxes are so he doesn't seem to be able to abuse all his aggression options as you're normally able to expect him do in typical SF games. We probably wouldn't need to restrict him to his own category unless we find something crazy so I think it should be stated that using him is allowed.

Speaking of Akuma, you trigger him as a replacement final boss opponent instead of Dictator by doing a 1CC on 8 Star difficulty only, the fight trigger doesn't seem to activate at all on lower difficulties.

I think time should end on the last hit just like Street Battle does, being forced to wait for "THE END" to show up felt annoying since the only thing you do after the last fight is wait through an unskippable cutscene.

Difficulty also appears to be locked to some kind of preset value no matter what you try to select in options before a run; I'd estimate it somewhere around 5/6/7 whereas only the first fight feels definitely like an 8 as that appears to be an extra hard fight that you're not supposed to win (Dictator's AI felt noticeably different to me compared with the actual final battle with the same character at the end) - it actually IS possible to beat them but when I managed to do so it doesn't even change the flow of the story or gameplay so yeah.

I would like to request that MisTer be added as a selectable platform and edited into my recent submissions.

Saturn has a very obvious advantage from faster load times so at some point we should have a category split but it ofc doesn't really matter until we actually have Saturn runners.

An Arcade version of the game does exist and should be added but I haven’t tested the gameplay yet myself. It should definitely be it's own category though as that version seems to have alot about it that makes it unique including exclusive characters.

I've completed a 4 star difficulty run of Street Battle to try and help facilitate the potential extra changes I mentioned earlier so if it gets added it's not just a dead category on arrival and should the other runners/mods agree I'd be excited to do some Difficulty 8 attempts too if that category gets made as well.

So it seems like the listed rules have been conflicting with itself for a long time. It says default settings are required but then lists Difficulty 4 when default difficulty is actually 3 so I can only assume this is a simple oversight that was just never picked up on?

I noticed everyone else's submission actually uses diffculty 4 but when I recently completed my first 1CC I used difficulty 3 thinking I needed the actual default settings like the rules state in the beginning.

If "default" is going to continue to be required I'd like to suggest that any difficulty choice be allowed as long as it doesn't go lower than the true default of 3 - this way accidentally increasing the difficulty compared to what default actually is (like all the runs before now have done due to the conflicting rules) would not incur invalidation.

Here's my run as a reference incase it's useful for anyone.

I wanted to quickly address this here on SRC instead of just our community discord to make sure that everyone is on the same page as the last time we had to do this there was quite a bit of confusion.

Since CAPCOM released their Trials seasonally, only certain characters can do certain volumes of trials and it just so happens that for the new Vol. 6 they decided not to include any of the already existing characters for whatever reason.

Sadly due to layout constraints of SRC, we are unable to show this discrepancy in a way that doesn't involve mass pings of "WR Notifications" for the areas we needed to express can't be submitted.

With this, all volumes of seasonal trials that CAPCOM have stated they planned to release have now been implemented into the leaderboard! Hopefully by the time Street Fighter 6 comes out SRC will have a better labelling system for their IL's that we can utilise for consolidation.

Thankyou for your understanding and goodluck on your runs!

I noticed we already have multiple people with submitted and accepted pbs using the MiSTer FPGA so I'm guessing this is just a simple oversight? I'd like to see the platform being officially selectable; should be a simple checkbox toggle under the "Obscure Platforms" dropdown list in the edit game section for mods.

Thankyou and I hope to see this adjusted soon.

So in my recent PB I found out there's not just a 2nd quest but the game does infact play on an infinite loop - what's more the dugeon layout of subsequent quests appears to be identical to the first quest dungeon layouts as far as I can tell, right down to the items given - however someone in my chat was saying there's a special icon mark that gets given to you after you max out your high score with a count of 9999 as a kind of easter egg.

I remember seeing on @LiteralGrill 's Any% guide document that there was a community interest in routing 100% but there doesn't appear to be any actual changes aside from the high score easter egg beyond the 1st Quest. I suppose there's potential for some kind of max score category tho? ...I mean, I'd gladly do some attempts of something like that but I imagine it'd be awhile until someone masochistic enough to join me turns up y'know xD

Hey there, I was thinking of running the GBA port of this game using the MiSTer, would we be able to have it added as a selectable platform?

The MiSTer is an FPGA-based system that emulates on a hardware level rather than a software level and I'm very confident in it's legitimacy as it's cycle-accurate to original hardware but if there are any tests you'd like me to do please let me know.

I was wondering what's on the horizon for plans now that the game is live? Personally, now that I've spent some time with the game I think the SRC board could really do with the inclusion of a hardest difficulty sub-tab for applicable categories alongside a default settings tab.

I'm also very interested in possibly a new dedicated category Boss Rush mode as well as character-specific IL's as I think there's alot of potential there!

Would be interested to hear everyone elses thoughts and if additions such as these are things that could be accomodated.

You may have noticed recently that the previous moderators have handed off responsibility of the leaderboards to a new team! Charmander and I actually already have some history together as I also took over responsibility for the SFV leaderboards from him several months ago.

In order to help revitalize the community and help foster a level playing field for all runners, we've decided to make a few changes to these leaderboards. They are as follows:

• General Game rules have been clarified, detailing acceptable standards for video, emulator, gameplay and general runner conduct requirements

• Official collaboration with the Street Fighter Speedruns community discord is now in effect; a link to which has been added to the leaderboard sidebar

• Moderators are no longer permitted to automatically verify their own submitted times

• Runs are now verified in IGT to level the playing field between various PC and console loading times; no longer will arbitrarily improving your load times with mods or more powerful hardware yield an unfair advantage!

You are free to still submit with RTA as a reference if you wish but the official rankings will be ordered by the fastest in game time after it has been confirmed during verification

• The previous 8 difficulty sub categories have been merged into three different minimum difficulty thresholds rather than having a category for every single option individually. We feel this more accurately represents a more distinctive change in AI behaviour for each avalible category to choose from

• Any% category runs will continue allowing runners to skip Bonus Stages without any kind of penalty. For any of the other Arcade categories, skipping Bonus Stages is still allowed but will incur a 1m 44s penalty which is the maximum possible time of 60s for Car Crusher and 44s for Barrel Buster. (existing runs have been retimed)

• The previous 1 Round and 5 Round sub-categories have been merged into Any% which allows any setting. 3 Round is now the universal standard setting for all other Arcade categories

The new Arcade category format is as follows: Any% allows the use of any round or difficulty setting while also allowing Bonus Stages to be skipped without a penalty Very Easy allows difficulty settings between Very Easy (2) - Easy (3) Medium allows difficulty settings between Medium (4) - Very Hard (7) Hardest only allows the Hardest (8) difficulty setting

• Arcade Mode, Trials and the Car Crusher Bonus Stage are all now avalible as an IL Leaderboard, allowing everyone the opportunity for competition over character-specific WRs

• All characters previously missing from the submission form have now been added in

• Four new "Hardest+" variants of Arcade Mode has been added as new categories to the misc. tab which require you to fufill special requirements during your speedrun to defeat a particular secret boss and defeat them ontop of also defeating Seth on the Hardest difficulty; we hope you enjoy these special challenges! Please note that the 3DS only has two secret bosses as it's based on the original SSFIV release, not SSFIV: AE

Thank you for your time and good luck with the runs!

The Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike leaderboards have received a revamp to help further promote competition between our runners! Please find below a list of the changes that have been made.

• Many rule clarifications and organisational improvements have been made for the sake of category organisation and the overall leaderboard layout in general

• Starting time ruling adjusted from the beginning of loading into character select to on Super Art selection after choosing a character

• New Gill Sub-Category for the Arcade mode on home console ports

• Character-specific Trials (assessed in the Online Edition home console port) has been added to the IL boards

• An "All OE Trials" as a misc. main board category which includes both character and mechanics-focused challenges all in a single run

As usual we will continue to keep an eye on these forums for feedback just in case but if you'd like to contribute to the discussions we highly encourage the use of our official community discord: https://discord.gg/fr5KXSsaEw

Thank you for your time and goodluck on the runs!

Hello everyone and welcome to the new and improved SFxT leaderboards! This game has recently received a new moderation team! @Habble , @NerdyNester and @DWednesday will now be spearheading the moderation effort.

Firstly before I begin I'd like to tag the community members here who have already submitted times to this leaderboard in the past as we would like to encourage a revitalisation of the leaderboard and we feel like the changes that have been made are drastic enough to highlight the new status quo. @KingSheaun , @Jaypin88 , @captrhodes , @Sir_ProsPal , @CyanRamp , @E_21 , @StarkillerShane , @GGDuane , @CountGooby and @FelipeNascimento83

Please find below a full list of changes that we have made to the boards in an effort to foster a strong and healthy community.

• General Game rules have been clarified, detailing acceptable standards for video, emulator, gameplay and general runner conduct requirements

• Moderators are no longer permitted to automatically verify their own submitted times

• Official collaboration with the Street Fighter Speedruns community discord is now in effect; a link to which has been added to the leaderboard sidebar

• Arcade mode speedrun rankings now use IGT as their main timing method (the combined total of 99s minus K.O time for each round of gameplay in the run) You are free to still submit with RTA as a reference if you wish but the official rankings will be ordered by the fastest in game time after it has been confirmed during verification

• Since the game actually provides an IGT for you at the end of each Mission, the combined total of all provided times by the game is used to calculate the IGT for the All Missions category specifically

• Platform categories are now merged together since using IGT means we no longer have to worry about load time discrepancies - additionally, this ensures that PC users who previously chose to alter the game files of stage backgrounds to be blank in order to speed up loading times will no longer have any objective benefit over anyone else when submitting their times

• A Co-op subcategory has been added under the Arcade category for runs between two human players on the same team

• Merged various difficulty and round value categories into three distinct types applicable to all relevant run formats; any existing runs for the categories that were previously underrepresented for years have been moved to their new appropriate homes

The new Arcade category format is as follows: Any% allows the use of any round or difficulty setting. 3R | Medium which enforces a 3 Round setting on Medium difficulty. 3R | Hardest which enforces a 3 Round setting on Hardest difficulty.

• A No Gems subcategory has been added under the Arcade category that enforces a complete ban on utilising any gems for the entire run

• The All Tutorials category under Challenge has been deleted due to community disinterest

• The IL section of this leaderboard is now open for Individual character Trials, allowing everyone the opportunity for competition over character-specific WRs

• For Trial IL speedruns, time starts on "READY" after loading into Trial 1 and ends on "CLEAR" after completing Trial 20

• Revised the SRC run submission form to include all 42 of the previously unlisted characters that have been somehow inexplicably absent all this time

Thank you for your time and good luck with the runs!

Did a proof of concept run for a potential new challenge category that requies defeating the secret Oni boss in Arcade using the Hardest difficulty.

The in-game secret Oni boss requirements are the following (Only mentioning bo3 round settings since that's what this leaderboard enforces)

  • No Continues
  • 2 Perfect Victories
  • 10 First Attacks
  • 5 Ultra or Super Combo Finishes
  • Defeat Seth with a Super or Ultra Combo

I've counted up this run's IGT in the YT description but I'll wait to actually submit until there's a decision on adding it as a new category or not. I can't imagine that I'd be the only person interested, this challenge was pretty iconic when it was current and even today it's really satisfying to do!

Thankyou for your consideration; please spread the word and perhaps try a run for yourself if you'd like to see this get some more attention. c:

Are we allowed to submit runs to this leaderboard for the most updated version of Alpha; Alpha 2 Gold? (also known as Zero 2 Alpha in Japan) I'm assuming yes but it isn't mentioned in the rules so I just wanted to be sure.

I found this game from PJ and klaige's AGDQ 2017 run of Any% Co-op but I noticed that category doesn't seem to exist here? Was interested to try this out with a friend in the future.
