Heyo. I really like the circuit speedway track 2 run. I noticed we haven’t gotten to IL yet so I wanted to talk about it. On Circuit Speedway Track 2, I got a time of 38.678. I don’f know if this is even the fastest as I have a feeling 37 seconds is possible. But I just wanted to talk about it. If anyone else is getting times don’f be afraid to reply :D
I have to agree. The backdrop is incorrect lol.
Endgame
For the first time we have hit a level that is actually difficult. Endgame is stupid hard to do optimally even on easy mode, which is the mode to play for speedrunning. It is the hardest landing point in the game because to land at the fastest spot gives you a very real chance of dying before you can even get moving. Along with that is a horde area which is really difficult as it was designed fo take a while. Then you go into trenches where literally every single enemy is required. You cannot skip through any of them. This is the first time I have had this situation so it is going to take some getting used to. It might take me a couple of days to get an actual good run on this but I will get it mark my words.
Ok finally after a lot of setbacks I am getting out my stuff to set up my speedrunning. I am going to make some attempts on Der Bunker and will most likely get a good run.
Update: and just like that I got my best split ever on Der Bunker. I am going to run right through this game lol.
Requiem
A really tough one, it takes the most time out of all of them and at the time of writing my best is 7:16. I feel that this is severely not optimized. There is so much time to save that I can't give a concrete number.
Scavengers
A really easy level, as long as you know where you are going it is a joke. My best is 3:30 and I doubt that I can save much, maybe 20 seconds at most. I doubt it can go under 3 minutes but who knows.
Behind Enemy Lines
4:58 is my best at the time of writing. But this is definitely not the best it can go, better movement can save some time but it is the horde section at the end that really gives me trouble, it is a run killer. I will probably need the most practice in this area as it is the only area I have died in during a run. I'd say this can go from 20 seconds saved to possibly even 50, though that is stretching it.
Der Bunker
This is a weird one, mostly because I am not exactly sure yet how much time exactly could be saved. I know exactly where, the mansion by about maybe 10 seconds, but the bunker itself is very weird because of the annoying snipers at the top of the building. For all I know I could only save 5 seconds or 30 seconds. I am not sure and more runs will have to be conducted.
Off Target
There is no doubt it can be done in under 4 minutes. It might be ridiculously hard but with good reaction time and aim, more specifically against the mg42 dude and the wave of troops at the house, a sub 4 minutes is without a doubt possible
I have been planning my runs over the past couple of days. I am going to complete every level run each and get the fastest time I can do. Then I will combine these times to what I am going for in the full game run.
I am going to start speedrunning again on May 22nd. My goal will to get a world record in every category for the exception of 100%
Scuffed MOH Vanguard Speedrunning Guide
I don’t know if it linked it properly but I finished it just now. But the title should bring you to it.
I know I am two months late but I am horrible with acronyms so idk what that means lol
I have created a discord server just in case anyone does want to discuss anything or has any questions since I am going to start speed running again in March. If anyone wants to join that'd be cool but if not then I'm fine with that lol it won't discourage me.
After some relooking my best splits on Husky is 9:01. But there is definitely room for improvement. I seem to have trouble at taking out the three troops at the barricade in mission 1 and if I play defend the house perfectly I can see these taking the record down to a mid 8:50's at least. Not only this but taking the beach house needs to be all but perfect to get a time of 1:57. Which is most likely the best theoretical split for beach house. It takes literal perfect precision and ammo usage needing to be very careful in not only landing but taking out the sniper at the window and the fourth hidden troop who spawns after you approach the door. And if you do get a perfect horde that is definitely a 10 second save. Off-target can most definitely be done in under 4 minutes but it will take near perfect aim which very well can be done with enough practice. Not only this but there are many troops that can be skipped all together. After getting through the barricades from the house, you can run past all of the troops including the ones passed the stairs. There is no reason to shoot them as it only looses time, with the exception of the sniper at the top of the stairs and the troop inside the final house. You can see where I skip troops in my current best run for reference. This game has a lot that hasn't been explored yet and I am very excited to finally get moving on it.
Yeah they are. This game doesn't really have much attention but these are the records.
In total, I think a sub 9 is very possible and I would do it if someone else would speed run the game too but idk it is kind of boring to do it by myself.
I have an idea on how to speed up required battles on enemies with 20-24 hp. My theory is to buy fire flowers at the first streamer and then use them during the second and third streamer since pretty soon you will have to use equitable items and that would probably take a lot of time. An excellent fire flower does 24 damage which I have noticed one shots a large amount of enemies that basic boots and hammers can’t do. Now while this only helps against enemies in the jumping line I do believe it will save a lot of time in required battles. It’s just a theory though so if it is wrong I can live with that lol.
