@FrikenPorpoise I think what’s happening is that your actual position is falling down from somewhere (you can see that the moments leading up to the respawn your height is dropping by a lot) and that hit the ground, you respawned. You can avoid this by not answering questions, as the desync mods are client side and don’t require the use of energy to keep moving on your side if used.
@Remytherat999 ok but you don’t gotta mention it here
@FrikenPorpoise This forum is just about what gim you like. Doesn’t have anything to do with speedrunning (you can choose any skin you want to play with for dld speedrunning as long as it isn’t one of the banned gims mentioned in the pinned forum)
@FrikenPorpoise If you’re talking about speedboosts, there’s specific setups for them (you can watch runs from top players that do them). Also you might not have noticed you got a speedboost because kb patch immediately snaps your speed back to the default speed
Weird that the links don’t work for you
Search up Gimloader github and it should show up
Anyways I think it's good to close this thread since the initial question has been answered
@retrozy Didn't you start the laser debates tho? At the end of the day, mods have been integrated into gimkit speedrunning and if you don't wanna run with them, that's fine.
@Remytherat999 yeah mine is from like 2019 or 2020 and my parents don't wanna buy me a new laptop, which is understandable
@retrozy Ok maybe I wasn’t clear with the issue. MY COMPUTER SUCKS, AND SAME WITH HORSE. My computer in general is slow, and the recording software, although making the problem a bit worse, is not the main reason (for reference my wifi speed on that computer compared to my phone is like 5-10x slower). Also for boost setups, this is basically the same thing as using savestates to start runs more quickly. You can still set it up normally but it’ll take more time
Also @VydeogamzXD the only reason the people at the top are modded desynced is because they’ve been the top players for nearly the entire existence of this game. The mods are very helpful to get runs going faster, but they’re not the reason those people are at the top
@retrozy mods do make it slightly easier on lasers because otherwise some skips would become frame perfect/nearly impossible (mods that desync won’t account for ping which is what makes some of the established laser skips easier than what it would be pingless). Ig in terms of lasers, it’s easier because the timings are more set and consistent. Also desync mods allow people like me or Horse for instance, to be able to play the game when otherwise our bad computers would lag and make it significantly harder to get runs
@VydeogamzXD Modded (Synced) is when you utilize mods but the position the game places you at (aka the position someone would, for instance, be spectating you, would see you at) and your position from your POV would still match up/sync. Things like DLDTimer apply to this. Modded (Desynced) is when you use Mods that do make your Gim desync from it's real position (the game has you at a completely different position from where you are at in your own POV). The Savestates, Input Recorder, and Bring Back Boosts apply to this rule.
Side Note: DLD initially had boosts until they were removed to accommodate a new gamemode (which is Current/Knockback Patch), so both Release Physics and Creative Platforming Physics will have boosts. Creative Platforming Physics are slightly different from Release Physics because it reduces the acceleration by a tiny bit
Glass Half Full. Basically stuck to the skin since I've started speedrunning
