To revive this thread, BlazinZzetti recently released a mod for Shadow the Hedgehog called Shadow SX. And with that, he is currently in the works for a new website and new leaderboards specifically designed for Shadow speedrunning, and the current plan is for emulator runs to be allowed and (most of the time) comparable to console times with the Shadow SX mod. While this leaderboard is not up yet, people are already doing runs with this mod and posting times in our discord. So, if you want an option to run the game on emulator, check out the Shadow SX mod, and join our discord!

It changes the categories because it can be done in Glyphic Canyon, and is really stupid to pull off, so it affects every category in a very unfun way. Most people running Shadow probably won't want to do Any%, but still want to do runs with Chaos Control Glitch, so the new Any% was born.
On Gamecube versions of the game, if you wall run into certain areas of levels where the wall is sticking out a tiny bit, you can cause Shadow to warp incredible distances. You can see this in some of the ILs for Glyphic Canyon, Sky Troops, Air Fleet, and Lava Shelter.
Nobody reminded me, but here you go: https://discord.gg/NdhjjCF
I can just say that for the years I've been in the tokusatsu community, I've never seen Harikenger. I've seen both Hurricaneger and Hurricanger, though.
I can see where Harikenger comes from, as it's the most literal transliteration of the title of the show, but a lot of Sentai names don't use the Hepburn romanization because it's emulating some English word. Such as, Jettoman -> Jetman, Ryusouger -> Ryusoulger, Patoranger -> Patranger (the word "patrol"), Rupanranger -> Lupinranger. Hurricaneger is just another example of that.
Like I said, there is an official release of the TV series in the US where it's titled Hurricaneger, so that's likely the most official romanization.

Why is Harikenger the chosen romanization for the title of this game instead of the one that everybody calls this series, Hurricaneger? Even the official English DVD release calls it Hurricaneger.
Added. I decided on "Get the Dress" for the category name. I thought Low% was appropriate, but I forgot that getting the dress isn't the same as beating the game.
Alright, cool, I'll add it. Might be a day or two, whenever I get the time.
If you give me a run, I'll add the category. I'd rather call the category something like Low% or Minimal Power-Ups, though.
Not a verified explanation, but we've long speculated that it has to do with how it's constantly loading and unloading new parts of the level much faster than the game is built to load.
The level leaderboard is in game. It shows up after you beat every level.
Those categories (All Hero/Dark Missions) exist, and BlazinZzetti has done runs of them, but it isn't worth putting on the leaderboard when there's only one run so far,
The thing is there isn't much point in doing a Last Story run when you could just IL Last Way or Devil Doom. When an entire run is just two ILs, it isn't really very significant.
A category doesn't need to be on the leaderboards for people do runs of it. If this interests you, you could always try it out yourself!
I'm not sure if being on Emulator causes any problems. but I personally run on my Wii and that's fine. (Gamecube is perfectly acceptable though)
The fact that you are doing it at checkpoint 3 may possibly be the problem. Try following our route for Westopolis and using CCG at the second checkpoint, and see what happens. (Remember it still has a CHANCE to crash so try it a few times if it crashes the first time)
I'm asking about closing it because I had thought that was the cause, because that's the only way I know would guarantee that the game crashes. Because normally, the game should not crash every single time you use it.
I'm going to ask for a few more details. Which stages does this occur on? What console are you playing on? Where are you using CCG in these stages?
If you could provide a video that could be helpful in solving your problem. Even if it's just a crappy phone video, that should be fine.
Yes I am referring to the mandatory stop. When the game mandatorily stops you, what button do you use to close the checkpoint menu? It sounds trivial but it matters.
