The game mode to run is called 'Scenario' where you go through all ten courses with a few challenges along the way. For character selection, you can pick one of the four sample characters and choose a stance. After confirming your stance, you enter the first course. When you agree on the stance, start the timer. Before and after each course is a cutscene. The one before can be skipped by pressing the pause/start button and selecting no on any question. The one after is different where you have to mash the X button to go through it quickly. This works the same way with the challenges. After the message ' A challenger has appeared' you can press pause/start to skip it completely but after beating them you must mash X. For this run, you complete all 10 courses, that's it. The only animation in the game that can move by itself, though can also be skipped, is the credits. The run ends as soon as you cross the line on the final course which is Alaska. This is where things get odd because everything in the game is skipable. Most other runs if not all end when you have no more control over the game but if that were the case for this game, you would end the timer at the very end of the credits where 'Thanks for playing' pops up. That is the ONLY thing you can't skip. Ultimately the scenario mode and the run focuses on the 10 courses so as mentioned earlier, end the timer as soon as you cross the finish line on the last course. The final note about scenario mode is that for either Any% or 100% you MUST end on a positive note for it qualify. Not doing good enough makes you do the course again which is why I don't ignore all the jumps in Alaska.

Each run for scenario mode is random. You will always face a challenger twice to unlock that character. Currently I have unlocked Ashley, Diachi, Majag and Jack.
Ashely will first challenge you on course two, USA and will be a ranked battle meaning you need to get more points and beat her to the finish. The second course is either Italy. I can't remember as I haven't unlocked her in so long!
Diachi will challenge you on course three, USA halfpipe then again on the Canada halfpipe. Both battles will be trick focused so there is no worry about reaching the finish first.
Majag will challenge you on course three, USA halfpipe then again in Italy. Like Diachi, both battles are trick focused.
Jack will first challenge you on course four, Japan and will compete against you again in either Argentina or Italy. More often it will be Argentina, the more difficult course.
The best one to get would be Diachi as the halfpipe courses are two of the shortest in the game. Therefore it would be a huge time saver.

IL runs can be done for seven of the ten course: Swiss, USA, Japan, New Zealand. Argentina, Italy and Alaska. The two half pipes and the one jump don't qualify as they focus on skill and tricks instead of speed. You won't get a positive ending for speed for those three courses. For it to qualify you MUST get a positive ending when you complete the course. For the IL courses you can use any character, and when I say you can use any character I mean ANY. Any of the four sample characters, the unlockable ones through scenario OR the resident evil characters through a code that can be used at the 'press start to begin' menu. It's Triangle triangle X X square circle square circle in case you want them unlocked. Any character is allowed as you can upgrade the stats of sample person and unlockables have better stats anyway. So who says we can't use these guys?!

I'm unsure on whether to add a few more categories; the first being the slalom is questionable as there are four difficulties for it and the end time can be altered if you miss any check points. The rules say that you must end on a positive note and missing even just one flag can ruin the run.
The second is the IL courses but as the zombie cop unlockable character! His stats are 2 speed, 2 jump, 2 spin and 1 balance which is the absolute worst for any character in the game by a HUGE amount. I'm unsure as this would be a more fun IL run experience.
