General Tips:
Read the Game Rules and Category Rules before doing a run, if you want to submit it to the leaderboards.
Play on the Standard Difficulty, with no memory card (if possible).
Use File 3 – it's actually ~0.5s faster than files 1 and 2!
Check the Individual Level videos and the full game runs (not just the world record) to better understand and visualize the route, as well as decide if you want to do certain difficult tricks.
You have to mash "A" four times to stop the sign destruction slowdown. Any more will cause Taz to jump, which may be undesirable.
  
  
Notes:
SW = Sandwich
It is hard to write a guide for 100%s: it would be unreasonable to mention every single object you should destroy since some levels require over 250 objects for the destruction bonus (not to mention that Taz's spin is somewhat erratic and you bounce in different directions after destroying objects). I suggest checking the IL videos and practice a route you're comfortable with A LOT!
This route will not mention the Hint Video Exploit (HVE) glitch, which can save you time on many signs (as much as 2 minutes, in total). If you want to incorporate this glitch into your runs, take a look at the HVE guide.

Elephant Pong
  
A lot of RNG. Sometimes Gossamer will scare the elephant to the left and move to the right (or vice-versa), so scare it to the other corner to score.
A recently-found tactic involves scaring the elephant in a certain way so that it hits a wall just before Gossamer scares it; doing this will make the elephant bump off the wall on that same spot and end up on the other side of the field while Gossamer stays near the wall (I believe this is because Gossamer will usually go in the direction he scares the elephant). After that, scare the elephant in a straight line (or even further away from Gossamer) to score.

The Hindenbird
  
1st Phase is easy, have good timing (spit slightly before he faces you). Grab a box at the end of this phase.
2nd Phase is hard, have good accuracy. You can double hit, triple hit sometimes. Grab a box and Charge spin at the end of this phase.
3rd Phase is random. You can hit the first 2 in alternate order, because if you're fast enough you can hit them in 2-1-3-4 instead of 1-2-3-4 (1 being the switch that stays activated the longest, 4 the shortest).

Taz: Haunted
The video below explains some tricks and strats in this level.
  
- (try to not get caught by the knights, otherwise when you fall out-of-bounds you'll spawn where your last cage was instead of at the entrance)

Granny Canyon
  
- entrance teleport: spin over the posts at the start of the level (fall into the white triangle in the image below)
- spinpad, spin into the corner to ride up the wall, destroy the 2 blue boxes, train sign

The Hindenbird
  
1st Phase is easy, have good timing (spit slightly before he faces you). Grab a box at the end of this phase.
2nd Phase is hard, have good accuracy. You can double hit, triple hit sometimes. Grab a box and Charge spin at the end of this phase.
3rd Phase is random. You can hit the first 2 in alternate order, because if you're fast enough you can hit them in 2-1-3-4 instead of 1-2-3-4 (1 being the switch that stays activated the longest, 4 the shortest).

- Burp Cans and Chilli Peppers last for 20 seconds before wearing off.
- Spinpads last for 10 seconds;
- Catchers take $1000 off Taz's bounty for that level;
- The elephant in Elephant Pong starts at a much faster speed (10 scares faster than Standard (the start of the second turning animation));
- Gossamer in Elephant Pong moves at a faster-than-normal speed;
- In Gladiatoons, Daffy enters hyper-aggressive mode at 4 points;
- In Gladiatoons, Daffy's AI is much better, and he moves faster;
- Time it takes for dynamite in Dodge City to explode: 2.475s / 1.950s / 1.425s / 0.900s;
- Sam drops 16 rocks when he attacks in Disco Volcano.

For ILs: Advanced for Elephant Pong, Dodge City, and Zooney Tunes Any%; Standard for the rest.

Escape the Cage (EtC)

Taz: Wanted - Escape the Cage

After you get put in a cage, spin the control stick in a circular motion to escape from it (note1). Other ways of escaping the cage include: doing Fountain Teleport and getting caught by the guard above the entrance, doing 3-video-HVE on Ice Burg's Ski Lift Sign then quickly getting caught by the nearby guard, and placing a vehicle (shopping cart or floor polisher) where the cage appears before being caught. You can cancel the glitch by destroying the cage or leaving the level.
By doing this glitch, the game still thinks you're inside the cage and you will have the effects of being in the cage without being in it. These effects include:
  
  
  
 - You can't Jump, Eat, Scream/Rant or go into first-person mode.
  
  
 - Guards, enemies and whack-in-a-boxes won't see you.
  
  
 - Spinning will put you in a temporary non-glitch state. This means that all the effects of this glitch will not take effect when you are spinning. Additionally, if you stop moving while at maximum walking speed Taz will "brake" (there's an animation with dust clouds and a screeching sound) and during this animation the effects of the glitch are also temporarily halted.
  
  
 - Walking into water will make you walk underwater. You can leave the water by spinning into the surface (this, of course, will make you drown, and you will spawn wherever you would spawn if you fell in the water on that space). You can also drown by spinning during the drowning transition (circle to black).
  
  
- Falling from large heights won't cause Taz to splat - he'll just walk normally while going down.
  
  
- Taz won't perform any idle animations (including falling asleep).
  
  
 - Getting caught by a guard while having this glitch will make your whole screen go black. To fix this, either fall in water/out of bounds (this will make the screen visible and the glitch still activated) or exit the level.
  
  
 - Slippery surfaces (honey, ice, paint, oil, etc.) won't make you slip until you press B (or brake), even if you move out of that surface. When you start slipping, you can jump. Spinning while slipping will make you fall, as usual. (note2)
  
  
 - You don't slide down surfaces, such as the tubes in Looney Lagoon and Bank of Samerica (this means that walls that normally make you slide down can be climbed easily).
  
  
 - Dynamite, electricity, cacti, barbed wire, etc. will not take effect until you spin (or brake). This means, for example, that you can touch a cactus and only get hurt later. (note2)
  
  
 - Falling objects won't affect you until you spin (or brake).
  
  
 - Gramophones won't affect you (this includes the ones in the elevator in Samsonian Museum) until you spin (or brake).
  
  
 - Since you can't jump, the tires in Zooney Tunes, cement mixers in Bank of Samerica, the cars in Taz: Haunted and Cartoon-Strip Mine, Vehicles, etc. - anything that you need to press A to enter/activate - will obviously not work.
  
  
 - Respawning after touching a fall plane will spawn you back immediately.
  
  
 - Some surfaces will force you to jump. This can result in a couple of weird effects, such as doing the walk animation in the middle of the air, getting stuck in the first frame of the spinning animation after pressing B, getting locked into the jump animation until you press B, and even make you able to jump at will again, although the guards and boxes will go back to noticing you again. If this happens, you will still get the black screen if a guards catches you, so you have to destroy the cage to fully stop the glitch.
  
  
 - You can't enter phone booths to get a costume. Also, you can't escape the cage with a costume since you always lose it after getting caught.
  
  
 - Consumable items with this glitch:
  
  -  Invisibility Potions work normally.
  -  Burp Cans and Chilli Peppers don't work - you can't activate them.
  -  Hiccup Cans lock you into a direction and lock the speed you're going at. You also hiccup at random intervals, so you can gain a lot of altitude, but it's very unpredictable. Spinning will make you fall, which allows you to change your direction.
  -  Bubble Gum will only work when you spin (or brake). That means that if you walk tiny steps at a time or keep walking after collecting the Gum, you can activate it further away than intended. You can even activate the bubble gum in mid-air. You can collect other items while you have the bubble gum stored (invisibility potion works normally, bubble gum does nothing, burp cans and chilli peppers can't be used and hiccup cans cancel the bubble gum). (note4)
  
  
 - The knight guards in Taz: Haunted will trap you in an unescapable state, and you have to exit to level to escape it.
  
  
 - Doing this glitch in Yosemite Zoo/Tazland makes it so you can't open the doors to Planet X/Disco Volcano/The Hindenbird, even if they're unlocked.
  
  
  
(note1) - For me, spinning counter-clockwise works much better than clockwise.
  
(note2) You can use this jump to enter objects, but strange effects can occur. (note3)
  
(note3) - Vehicle controls are the same and you can jump out of them like normally.
 - Carts in Taz: Haunted and Cartoon-Strip Mine will act normally, and you will keep the glitch if you reach the end of the track. If you fail, however, you will get stuck in "Car Mode" forever. You'll be able to tilt the car, jump and boost, but Taz will be standing behind the car's starting position, and not moving. You can only fix this by exiting the level.
 - Bouncy Tires and Cement Mixers work normally.
 - Ropes in Samsonian Museum (and possibly other objects that launch you at high speeds) will prevent you from moving while you slide around and bounce off walls. The control sticks does nothing but spin Taz around. To fix this, just press the B button.
  
(note4) - When the bubble gum balloon pops, you have 1 frame where the glitch is not active. During this moment, it is possible to enter a door or a phone booth, activate a burp can or chilli pepper.

You can pause on the frame you destroy a sign. Unpausing will destroy the sign normally.
  
What's interesting is that you can trigger the sign destruction cutscene by watching a hint video. This causes some weird effects to occur, the most useful of which being skipping the slowdowns while in the pause menu (saves in-game time) and being able to move during cutscenes (for example, on the frame you hit the boat in Looney Lagoon, if you look at a video and finish destroying the sign, you'll be able to walk on the sinking ship parts, which shouldn't be possible since they sink during a cutscene in which Taz can't move).
  
This isn't exclusive to signs: for example, you can watch a hint video as you enter the cutscene in the basement in Cartoon Strip-Mine (the one that shows you the machine making coins) and skip that cutscene.
  
Most signs in the game are either destroyed at the start of a spin or after a certain amount of time (when the spin starts to take effect). Doing this glitch for those signs is called Instant HVE (IHVE) and Full Spin HVE (FSHVE) respectively. You can find out more about those timings here: http://imgur.com/a/hzBou . A good spot to practice FSHVEs is the leftmost switch in the basement in Cartoon-Strip Mine (not the one that starts the sign, the other one), since you can hit it repeatedly without having to exit the level.
  
Furthermore, spat-out objects and other projectiles (such as Ice Burg's, Bank of Samerica's, Granny Canyon's and Cartoon Strip-Mine's costume attacks) still move while watching hint videos and can still hit signs or destroy objects. These Projectile Hint Video Exploits (PHVE) are much easier to do, since you have a lot of time to open the map before the object hits the target. Below is a list of the effects this glitch has on the signs (and other cutscenes) in every level, as well as how much time each skipped cutscene takes. Keep in mind that this only accounts for in-game time saved and doesn't include how long this glitch takes to perform (you can assume for real-time runs that each HVE takes ~2 seconds).
If a sign says "Normal Sign", it means that you can HVE it but you'll only skip the slowdown (which saves about 0.5 seconds). Most of these signs are the typical standing posters (like the House Sign in Zooney Tunes), which can be IHVE'd.
If a cutscene says "Camera keeps looking at Taz", it means exactly that. For some cutscenes, this is barely useful (Laboratory Sign in Taz: Haunted), for others it essentially skips blind movement (Golden Sam Activation in Looney Lagoon).
If a cutscene says (I), it means that you can do an IHVE. If a cutscene says (FS), it means that you can do a FSHVE.

Ski Lift Sign - This sign's cutscene is divided into 3 parts: the electric jolt moving through the wire, the cable car going really fast and the ski lift crashing into the mountain. After every part of the cutscene, you are moved right next to the switch. Watching one hint video skips the first cutscene. Watching two skips the first cutscene and the camera looks at Taz during the second cutscene. Watching three or more videos allows you to move during the second cutscene, but you'll be put back near the switch when the third cutscene starts. Effectively, this HVE saves ~4 seconds (FS) and allows you to move around for ~9 seconds before putting you back near the switch. It is possible to HVE just the second cutscene, because there is one frame between the first and second cutscenes where you can act. As such, this HVE will only allow you to move for the second cutscene's ~9 seconds before putting you back near the switch.

Taz: Wanted - In-Game Cheat Codes

On the file select screen, choose the 3rd save slot, select the corresponding icon and type the cheat, then press the Rant button to activate it (the name of the cheat will appear on-screen and Taz will say "tasty!"). You can press the Rant button again to deactivate it (Taz will burp). These codes work on every version (PS2, Xbox, PC, and GCN).

Pause Exploit (PE) is a glitch exclusive to the Xbox version of Taz: Wanted. On Xbox, you can Pause (but not Map) on the frame when, on other versions, the pause button would be disabled. This includes the end of boss fights, the start of cutscenes, level entrances and exits, and, usefully, screen wipe transitions.

Wipe Skip (WS) is a sub-glitch of Pause Exploit. It allows you to skip the screen wipe transitions from being caught, falling (including out-of-bounds falls), dying on the minecart/rollercoaster rides, and drowning. This actually saves a bit of in-game time. Catcher Wipe Skips (CWS) and Falling Wipe Skips (FWS) save ~1.06s, Minecart/Rollercoaster Wipe Skips and Drowning Wipe Skips (DWS) save ~1.54s. Overall, this glitch saves around ~35s spread across all levels.

**BoS:** Catcher + Fall on the 100% Gravity Route

**CSM:** Drown after Drill Sign, Catcher after Platform Sign, Fall after Water Maze Sign

**TL:** Fall after Spinning Log, Fall after charged spin to Rolling Logs, Fall to Volcano, Fall after Wrecking Ball Sign (All Signs), Fall after Golden Sam, Drown in Sawmill
