How to determine which version of SSASR Java you are playing!

Mischievous asked me to set up this guide on how to tell which version of SSASR Java you're playing as there are close to 100 releases of multiple phones in multiple languages, however, these can be grouped into 4 main categories. Typically you can tell from the file size but SSASR Java is a little bit quirky with a lot of the versions. You could get in contact with someone who has the correct file structure, but if you have just *legally obtained it* from a site like Dedomil, you'll need this guide. Don't be alarmed at the different aspect ratios. So long as it hits the marks for one specific version, the resolution doesn't matter.

# **128kb**

This is the lowest version SSASR Java and it shows. To my knowledge, there are only 3 releases of this version but here are the identifiers:

- Game is approximately between 124kb to 136kb
- Only 4 characters are playable (Sonic, Amy, Tails and Eggman)
- The game only has 3 tracks as easily seen in Time Attack mode (Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle and Casino Park)
- There are only 3 trophies with a low number of races:

1. Diamond Trophy - Seaside Hill
2. Club Trophy - Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle
3. Heart Trophy - Blizzard Castle, Casino Park

# **300kb**

This is the second lowest version SSASR Java and is visually a lot more similar to 600kb:

- Game is approximately between 200kb to 400kb
- There are 6 playable characters (Sonic, AiAi, Amy, Eggman, Amigo and Tails)
- The game has 6 tracks as easily seen in Time Attack mode (Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park, Curian's Mansion, Tokyo-to and Final Fortress)
- There are 4 trophies total:

1. Diamond Trophy - Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park
2. Club Trophy - Blizzard Castle, Casino Park, Curian's Mansion
3. Heart Trophy - Casino Park, Curian's Mansion, Tokyo-to
4. Spade Trophy - Curian's Mansion, Tokyo-to, Final Fortress

# **600kb**

This is the version of the game most people are probably aware of for SSASR Java:

- Game is approximately between 500kb to 1mb, this is likely due to upscaling on some phones so this identifier isn't as reliable
- There are 6 playable characters **IN A DIFFERENT ORDER TO 300KB AND REPLACING AMY WITH SHADOW** (Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Eggman, AiAi and Amigo)
- The game has 6 tracks as easily seen in Time Attack mode where **TOKYO-TO IS REPLACED WITH DETRITUS DESERT** (Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park, Curian's Mansion, Detritus Desert and Final Fortress)
- There are 4 trophies total:

1. Diamond Trophy - Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park
2. Club Trophy - Blizzard Castle, Casino Park, Curian's Mansion
3. Heart Trophy - Casino Park, Curian's Mansion, Detritus Desert
4. Spade Trophy - Curian's Mansion, Detritus Desert, Final Fortress

# **1mb**

This is the largest version of the game but is the hardest to currently run on emulators. Looks near identical to the 600kb version but typically has 3d implemented too (like the Eggman Head for the tunnel in Seaside Hill):

- Game is approximately between 800kb to 1mb
- There are 10 total playable characters (Sonic, Shadow, Amy, Amigo, Knuckles, Tails, Eggman, AiAi, Alex Kidd, Ryo)
- The game has 8 tracks as easily seen in Time Attack mode (Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park, Curian's Mansion, Tokyo-to, Detritus Desert, Final Fortress and Carnival Town)
- There are 4 trophies total:

1. Diamond Trophy - Seaside Hill, Blizzard Castle, Casino Park
2. Club Trophy - Curian's Mansion, Tokyo-to, Detritus Desert
3. Heart Trophy - Blizzard Castle, Tokyo-to, Final Fortress
4. Spade Trophy - Casino Park, Detritus Desert, Carnival Town
