So I was TASing, and as always, found a new piece of "art". This one is a different way to preform the 1-2G. I don't think it is humanly possible, but would love to see somebody try it out. Basically, you have to jump for one frame very late on the top of the last platform, and than you will land in the perfect position to preform the pipe clip. I believe there are variants where you can jump earlier, and for more frames, making this a humanly possible trick, but I am yet to try this out. This version enters -1 the same frame as the RTA method. Download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/utynbs4n8pbgo8f/Altered_1-2_Clip.fm2/file (Use practice ROM)
This EXACT setup? I thought that I made this myself. So he did two 1 frame jumps at the exact position that I did in the TAS I provided?
it doesn't have to be exactly a one frame jump, you can jump from different locations on that platform and still land on the perfect position because of how high you jump. Here's the clip of him doing it:
In my post I was just talking about this exact setup in the movie in general.
I'm having trouble getting it in a TAS with any setup. I don't know when I'd start walking (I'm blind, so please be as specific as possible--a point in the song, a number of frames, etc).
@DJ_Incendration are you really blind? If so, refer to my guide: https://www.speedrun.com/smb1/thread/orm6q/1#uymx7
@SuperCuBros You realize in a TAS you can advance frame by frame. He doesn’t need to have vision to advance a tool one (or a specific number of) frame(s).
