I am going to develop an auto split for Sheepy: A Short Adventure, and I was wondering what segments I could add. Of course, you have the different chapters, fights, and powers, but I wanted community input as well.
Here is a link to what I have come up with for now. Share any comments here please.

Are you pacing each split with manual inputs? I honestly wouldn't want to pace that many. At most just each individual chapter tbh.
I could make it shorter, but I like to know exactly what I did wrong and what it affected. And I'm learning how to make auto splits, so it could take a few days to weeks before I release it.
I just have my splits as the chapter names. The doc seems a bit excessive with the amount of splits but considering this is the first game I've ever speedran and I haven't even submitted a run yet my vote probably shouldn't count for much.
@Lonkyboi_III with such a small speedrunning community, all the input is appreciated. The only problem with only doing chapter is chapter 4. It only appears after you get the horns and would be hard to get a split for it with my knowledge. The option I can think of is instead of chapter 4 I could put it in so that when you collect the horns it splits.
Another thing is that all the chapters don't have a definitive time to split. They pop up somewhat awkwardly for creating an auto split form my understanding.
Ye, the chapter timing is weird. I suppose I can submit a run (After I upload to youtube which will take a bit) to at least share where I arbitrarily decided to split. And I agree about the horns, makes most sense to split once you get them.
You could just split when a level ends. Most of them end on a loading screen, with the exception being the transition from 5 to 6. For the start of Apotheosis, I would split when you regain control, I think.
As Giraudo said, you should be able to use the loading zones as that should leave some kind of traceable number change within the system to indicate something has "ended".
I would prefer splitting on the ability upgrades + last room, as that makes the most sense for me, and then if we could implement a auto-load pause that would be even better.
So for me that would kinda look like:
- 00:00 - 3:07 Segment 1 (Walk & Jump)
- 3:07 - 9:48 Segment 2 (Double jump)
- 9:48 - 13:40 Segment 3 (Rush)
- 13:40 - 15:45 Segment 4 (Astral Flight)
- 15:45 - XX:00 Segment 5 (Final Room activated)
All are great ideas. I have found someone who, as a community, we could commission to make these live splits. He is also going to help me develop the live split based on the chapters.
Edit: I got the cost for the commissions. It would be 320 euros. So I can't pay for it alone, if someone could start a GoFundMe (I'm 15, so I can't) that would be great!
What tool do they recommend?
Toufools Autosplitter seems quite promising, so I will look into that as soon as I find some time for it. Also let's not leave contracting to a 15y/o, no offense.
For anyone interested, running the game on Linux with Wine9.1 and using libTAS we might be able to create both a TAS and a tool to savestate emulate the game. Will give it a shot when I've got some time too.
May I ask if their price is for a code-based splitter, or a simple video splitter?
This is a Construct 3 game. They pride themselves on how difficult it is to hook/mod the "compiled" code.
How is the progress with the autosplitter? Will that be also load removed or just splitting at certain events?
(I like btw. the idea with a lot of possible splits and everyone can choose how many they will use.)
@Mrks_ We had our very own splitter made by rixls (who posted above).
It is not really possible to set splits wherever, but it does split at chapter breaks, creating 7 good splits in total. You can find info about it in the Discord for now, will probably add it to the SRC info once we are 100% sure it works as we want to.
It can also do load removals as of late, but we still rely on real world time for now.
Since the major growth this past week, Slack, Zyrumi, and I are going to add some new categories. The community has shown interest in both a 100% and a Chair% categories. We plan to make this happen, but we still need to work out some of the kinks in the rules. (Glitches or no glitches, what counts
