and yes we can speedrun 1.17 or 1.18 whenever it exists, we dont need an existencial pointment for that xd moderators of a game speedrunning obviusly know about new updates of that game, they will decide if the need a new version or not but keep calm

now categories are pre-1.8, .9-1.15, 1.16 so like, there is not a subcategory for each version yk

Imo something big's gonna change and it will become its own category. Imagine you could get pearls from the warden or something. Only time will tell.

category splits are meant for if there are new strats in a later version of the game. for any% runs, splitting 1.17 wouldn't make sense

@griefless I was imagining that there was a category split and it would be because they add archeological excavations where you could dig up pearls. Doesn’t seem to ridiculous to think either
