Recently, the community has decided to make some updates to the leaderboards. There are two significant changes which we are implementing:
-
All full game PC runs will now be timed without loads. The load times on PC can heavily vary and they dependent on rather ridiculous things. By removing loads from PC runners, it will put PC runners on equal ground. All PC runs on the boards will be retimed without loads. Currently, this is only being implemented for PC runs, as removing loads from console is considerably more complicated (although this could potentially change in the future). We do have an autosplitter/load remover available for livesplit, so you can time PC runs loadless with ease: https://www.speedrun.com/incredibles/resources/abgjn

We are now allowing XBOX HDD (and other external storage solutions for other consoles) for full game runs. Originally, XBOX HDD specifically was banned from full game runs due to the speed advantage it has over original hardware, combined with being an unofficial way of playing the game. Recently however, the community unanimously agreed that we should legalise XBOX HDD from now on, mainly due to the mess that is XBOX disc drives. The only guideline we have for XBOX HDD is that an original HDD is used (so SSDs for example are banned). As for other consoles (PS2, GC, etc.) any form of external storage is allowed.
So those are the updates. PC runs will now be timed loadless and XBOX HDD is now allowed. If people have any further questions then feel free to ask.
