Brothers, the time has come to introduce something new to the world of TLaD speedrunning. Starting from now, runners are free to submit their runs to 'The New Classic' leaderboard. This category takes its roots from the GTA IV's 'Classic' run but features fundamental differences from its origin. Similarly, the ruleset of 'The New Classic' prohibits the usage of taxis or any other means of warping. However, unlike in GTA IV, phone mission restarts are also prohibited, which switches the focus on driving even further. The controversial '33 VD rule' has been lifted for TLaD, meaning the runners are free to change vehicle density or any other setting in the menu as they please. We believe that this ruleset should highlight the true purpose of 'Classic' as well as cover potential inconsistencies. Any constructive feedback on the new category is encouraged. Have fun!
