So this idea came up when i was watching yesterday @KrisTheHylian speedrunning Ninja Gaiden Black while he was in a middle of a good run the stream just crashed so pretty much the VOD of a considerable run was legit to watch but the issue on the runs is you have to record the whole run otherwise i guess it wont be legit, now i think on the position of the runner ''dammit stream crashed gotta finish the run then reconnect to show the final time gotten''.
So this is the idea: a plugin for OBS,Xplit & other programs when the program crashes due by net issues, what this plugin does is to record right on that instant the gameplay so when the speedrunner finishes he/she can be sure of using video program editor to mix up those 2 parts (the twitch VOD part and the recorded part saved on the PC) making of this an viable way of not repeating the speedrun and saving a considerable time to the runner on doing other %'s.

Not every computer is capable of recording and streaming at the same time, glaedrlol.
I wasn't able to record and stream at the same time for years...anytime I was doing really serious attempts of something and just wanted the game feed I wasn't able to stream it.
Though with OBS the local recording of the stream has a low impact that still gets cut if the stream goes down, and that recording will have whatever other trappings you also stream with, like, say, microphone audio. A plugin that keeps the local recording going even if the stream goes down could be quite useful, I'd think.

OBS Multiplatform can handle multiple audio channels, so you can put your microphone on a different audio channel, then keep this channel for streaming and not for local recording.
OBS Multiplatform 0.12.0 (not yet released) will add stream delay with a new feature "Preserve cutoff point" which will make sure no video is lost, when you have a disconnect.
