Hi, I'm really new to dark souls speedrunning (and speedrunning in general) and I have some doubts about it
1st: I need to record the speedrun to upload it?
2nd: I didn't understand the rule: "Analog and digital signals can only be mapped to analog and digital forms of input respectively (button to button, stick to stick). Macros of any kind, turbo function or a non 1-1 binding are not allowed."
Thanks in advance
1st: yes
2:real time is when the timer starts at the beginning and just stops at the end. in-game time:the timer dont count loading zones
I believe it's just saying you can't set up a macro to do a complex input for you, such as move swap on prepare to die or something like wrong warp or item dupe on remaster. basically just use your controller as intended, not sure if it's saying no button remapping allowed because I think I've seen runners remap buttons for certain parts of runs but not 100% sure
"Analog and digital signals can only be mapped to analog and digital forms of input respectively" means that you are not allowed for example to bind pushing your joystick forward to the button A of your controller because a joystick is an analog input while the button A is a digital input.
So for example, you are allowed to rebind button A to button B, button B to button C, swap one joystick with the other, etc.
As for macros, that means you're can't bind multiple inputs to one other input. So for example, you are not allowed to bind button A to button C and at the same time also having button B to button C.
