Hi all, Today I attempted a run at the N1 category, which I did from a clean fresh start to the career, however I noticed the current #1 time (I only checked this run, so maybe others did the same) actually starts the run with 5 gold medals in N1 and so actually is able to skip a couple of screens (like the intro video and medal acquisition screen) which means I lose a good few seconds having to stumble through a couple more menus from starting from a fresh career. So the question is, are we allowed to start with a 100% campaign (as I would've thought we would need to start from fresh), or should we clear the career file every time we start a new run? The career.ini file can be found in: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Assetto Corsa\launcherdata\filestore All you need to do is delete it and it will wipe the progress you have back to 0

I guess we could also think about whether or not it's even worth timing the menu's between the events anyways as the menus are rather slow and clunky and don't really contribute anything to the run other than an extra headache lol, but that's not my choice to make.

I'll be interested to hear your opinions, I've played a good chunk of AC but never the career mode so this might push me into actually doing it by submitting runs :^)

I think navigating the menu is a part of speedrunning and should be included.

With the starting from a fresh career file, it would take the fun off of grinding the categories, since (I think) you have to close the game, delete the file, start the game every time you want to do redo a run. That can get frustrating quickly.

Yes, you do have to close the game, modify the file then relaunch every time, however it saves all the championships in the file individually so all you have to do is to clear the championship you want to re-do from the file and re-load. It's honestly not that bad, but I fully understand where you're coming from, especially for people with weaker hardware and longer loading times, so it would be very good to get an official wording so we are clear on this going forward.

Starting from a already full gold championship is completely fine, there are ways to get around the little animations or videos (usually with content manager or skips like this one - https://www.speedrun.com/assetto_corsa/thread/9vacp ). As long as you're still using the main contents from the game without changing how the game works (for example, changing how much power a car has) then it's completely fine. I will update the game rules to clarify some confusions people may have
