Wallclip: wavedash into a wall, inconsistent

StallBounce: twirl and jump at the same time while close to the floor (~1+ stud height)

HyperBounce:

     -Wall: dash into a wall while touching it

     -Floor: dash down while ~two studs above the ground, then jump

RollDodge: wavedash into spikes, you can jump while in the roll animation

This is a full guide on how to get the humanly perfect time in Wavedash. Some easier/more consistent methods will be shown too, but they will lead to slower times.

# Required Tech

There is some mostly basic tech needed to achieve a good time. The tech will be introduced in the order they're used in the run. Some are single use, others are used throughout. Also, some tech doesn't have a name, so I will be giving names to them.

### The Wavedash

The titular move, and the simplest one at that. Simply dash downleft/downright into the ground, and jump after hitting the ground. This leads to massive speed time gain when used. In most cases, you'll want to buffer your jump by pressing space before hitting the ground for maximum speed.

### The Sidedash

The sidedash is a variant of the wavedash. Instead of dashing diagonally towards the ground, simply dash in the direction you're moving when near the ground. This can be preformed immediately after jumping, or when falling. One use case for sidedashing is at 282 studs in the cave after the first set of beat blocks. When falling, the gap is too large for an ordinary wavedash, so a sidedash is used to chain into a wavedash.

### Wavedash Chaining

Speaking of chaining, you can chain multiple wavedashes in a row in open areas or with evenly spaced platforms. A notable example of where this is used is at 130 studs, where the platforms are perfectly spaced for 3 wavedashes in a row. This can also be done with sidedashing, but it is slower and isn't used in the run.

### The Slope Slide

This is one of those pieces of tech I mentioned earlier that only has 1 use in the run. It's preformed by dashing directly into a slope that's connected to a wall, which will lead to the player sliding part way up the wall. The trick is preformed at 421 studs next to the pair of goombas (or goobers, whatever) where you dash into the slope to the right of the goobers, going up to the platform above. This can be used as an alternative to wavedashing into it and jumping, but neither way saves more time.

### The Spike Jump

Ah yes, the infamous spike jump. Used exactly once at 592 studs to skip a beat block cycle, and the ender of dozens, if not hundreds of runs. The trick is misleadingly simple to understand though. You simply have to jump at the very edge of a platform with spikes on it, and the spikes won't harm you. The biggest tips I can give for becoming more consistent at the spike jump is to not move before you come in contact with the ground, and to buffer your jump. Another tip specific to the place its used in the run is to get as high as possible on the beat block before you go for the jump.

### No-Bounce Goober Stomp

This has a somewhat complicated name, but it will be explained. The trick is done by dashing downleft/downright, or left/right, into a goober at around its corner. This will get rid of the goober, and maintain your momentum. This is also a single use tech like the previous 2, used at 616 studs near the end of the game. This can also be used at 590 studs after the set of breakable blocks, but isn't needed. It's quite a precise trick, but the only real tip I can give is when you're dashing non-diagonal, dash as soon as you can after you jump. After doing the trick you can chain it into a wavedash or a sidedash.

That's all the tricks you need to know to get the perfect time, along with having perfect execution.  With that out of the way, it's finally time to get into the run!

# The Route

I'll provide 2 main routes throughout this tutorial. One will be a beginner's guide, with easier to execute tricks. The other will be the "perfect" route. The beginner's route will lead to a time in the 1:40 range, and the perfect route will end with a high 1:19 or low 1:20 time, depending on random variables. Along with that, each section of the perfect guide will have a difficulty, being either Easy, which is usually the same as the beginner's guide (Easy+ if it differs *slightly* enough), Moderate, using some more precise but manageable routing, and Elite, using the most difficult tricks of all. (Yes i did sorta name the hardest difficulty after myself). Sections will be divided based on checkpoints or spots that seem reasonable to partition at. (P.S., when i say something like "dash up" by itself, it implies jumping before the dash. You need to be in the air to dash.)

### Beginning

Beginner:
When you first spawn in, you're in a cave. You should've already known this if you've read this far. The first inputs you should press are Space and Left, then to dash directly up to the platform above. Walk right, then dash up and move right to skip jumping onto the overhang platforms. Walk a little further right, and dash up to the highest of the 3 platforms at the cave's exit. Dash up once again and move right to fully get out of the cave and to touch grass for once. (Optional: touch grass in real life). Preform a wavedash moving right, then dash right onto the elevated platform. Jump when you hit the ground, and wavedash onto the next platform.  Wavedash on there, then sidedash, landing on the platform that's half grass and half rock. When you jump out of the sidedash, wavedash 3 more times, then dash right to the first checkpoint. 

Expert (Easy):
The route above is used in the perfect time, just with tighter execution. It's useful to get the beginning, along with the next checkpoint, engraved in your muscle memory to get more runs to the later and less consistent sections. Besides that, wait 3 and a half to 4 beats of the music (start counting on 1) after resetting before your first input, for the optimal beat block cycle.

### Checkpoint 1

Beginner:
After you land on the checkpoint, jump out of the sidedash and wavedash onto the next platform. Sidedash onto it and dash upright onto the platform above. Here, you can do a chain of 3 wavedashes on the 3 platforms to go into the cave. Dash up and move left to get to the platform above, then dash up again but while moving right to go to the next platform. Repeat to get to the next one, then dash left to get over the spikes. Dash up or upleft to the platform above, then dash upright. Preform a sidedash to get past the goobers, then dash upright to get to the checkpoint, and wavedash into it.

Expert (Easy+):
Mostly the same as the beginner route, with these exceptions: 
- Sidedash into the platform after the triple wavedash chain instead of landing normally
- Instead of dashing up then left 2 platforms after that, dash up while moving left to jump past the spikes
Remember to build up the muscle memory for this part!
