I did this awhile ago, and realized I never shared it with maybe the only people in the world who would find it interesting. Basically just memorized all 93 levels in Any%. I speedrun a lot, and when I played the game casually, I just realized that this might be possible. After that I on and off grinded it for about a year. All culminating in this run! Had a lot of cringe forgetfulness, but I never went back to beat the time. Would be interested to see if anyone ever tried this again. It was legitimately very fun, and probably not thaaaat hard.

I thought this game would benefit from a discord a lot but I’m not sure if I’m necessarily the person to do it.

Community always helps games grow. Period. And with the discovery of glitches like JFM Boosting, there is a necessity for a centralized glitch hunting discussion.

Questions about certain holes could be answered by the community, and everyone would improve a lot faster.

I submit that we start a What The Golf? Speedrunning Server. I didn’t want to overstep my bounds though, so if the mods want to take the lead on that they should.

After my last run JFM told me about a glitch he found that applies so far to cars and the horse but we haven’t tested every 3D object.

The basic premise is that on self propelled objects, pause buffering lets you build enormous speed. We have already found a number of useful applications. Some being very easy, but others more inconsistent.

There is a lot more to be done on this glitch. The Racing skip is the easiest and probably the most useful out of all the applications, but when we get this optimized, there is a lot of potential. Let me know your thoughts or your discoveries here.

How does one go about timing a run with in level times only. I run a different game with similar timing problems to Sonic 2 and was curious about how to integrate something like livesplit into level based timing.

Oh. Well, that makes sense. Those glitched credit sequences are a result of (probably) slight variations on the VC run. I've seen some crazy versions of this princess chamber. Just today I had Mario and Peach fall through the first tile of the floor. VC deserves the ban.

1. What are the validities of glitched princess chambers. Like messed up Mario, or garbage pixels, or no text?

2. Why no VC?

Well, you have to reset all the save data, getting rid of achievements and character unlocks as well.
