Run: NES Open Tournament Golf
Required equipment: game cart, NES, NES controller, CRT TV
Equipment I will bring: game cart, NES, NES Controller
Dates i will be attending: May 20th-22nd
Can the marathon use my equipment for other runs: No (not sure how much time I will be on site)
Only difference I can see is that your weapons run dry twice as quick, that is it. It really is not very entertaining, but in case we wanna track it (it is more challenging, due to less shots of good weaponry), I did put together this viedo as a proof of concept.
Super Smash TV Normal % (about 50-57 minutes, depending on how wellit is played and RNG for weapon drops).
I was considering this the other day, and I guess the way to do it would be using the Turbo Mode code, as the only other way to get it is to beat the game once, reaching the Pleasure Dome, in addition to getting into all the secret rooms and beating the Evil MC.
However, any other ideas are more than welcome.
Dropped my payment just now.
will do
My wife and I would like a room with a queen bed, is that feasible? We would not be looking to room with anyone, obviously.
Yeah, then my idea would not be very workable, unfortunately. Thanks for the clarification.
how big of a delay would skype/discord have for someone to commentate?
-
Are you able to attend the marathon (May 19th-23rd, near Chicago) Yes
-
What day(s) can you attend, and during what time of day? (please use Chicago time, GMT-6) I will attend for a couple days (Friday night till Sunday midday)
-
What console, video signal, and aspect ratio will your run be using? NES, composite, 8:7
-
Will you be able to bring your own console, game, and necessary power and a/v cables? I can bring my own game, controller, and could supply a system, but it is unreliable, so if possible, I would like to use someone else's console.
-
Any special requirements for your run? (PAL tv, power converter, etc) No.
I have a cart of my game, a controller, and I do have a NES. However, if possible, I would rather use another NES, simply because mine is a gen 1 console, and not always super reliable. Will there be one on hand that might be usable instead of my own?
SsupNerds, we would be passing through Southern Ontario, maybe carpooling would be an option. It would help with gas costs, in the least.
Planning to drive, will base my time on site around when the run would be in play (assuming it gets accepted, of course).
Well, we would add Big Jon's name (gamej06) to my entry, and to KillerApp23's entry, making it a 3 way race proposal. Jon will need to do his own entry once he has time to make a video for his own entry, and he will be able to make his own write up.
Hmmmm, we had a change in plans for our submission, as Big Jon wants to make our proposed NES Open Golf entry a 3 way race. Hoe do you edit a submission?
Hello, recently Big Jon (gamej06) has put out a call for a NES Open Golf race of all 3 courses (you can find the bracket here: http://challonge.com/nesopen). I think that it should be a trackable entity, as it is perfect for racing, due to it mitigating some of the bad vs good RNG needed int he game, and it really relies more on consistency.
It will also have a lot of potential times to submit, as the tournament starts on Monday, and will have a LOT of matches, so those efforts may as well go towards something.
The rules we play under are:
- Timer starts when sign on US Hole 1 starts to fade (press A and your timer input at the same time)
- Once the ball falls into the hole on US Hole 18, you can reset, then menu load into the Japan course.
- Once the ball falls into the hole on Japan Hole 18, you can reset, then menu load into the UK course.
- Timer ends when the ball falls into the hole on UK Hole 18.
The current run times are around 30 to 31 minutes, though with a good round or two, it will definitely go sub-30. It is a run discipline to play, as it requires focus, fast thinking, and quick calculations, all with only some predictability!
If this is the wrong place to post this, apologies.
I also do not know who the moderator is for NES Open Golf (if any), and if there isn't one, I would gladly volunteer for the job.
A friend and I have a race to submit, just finalizing our submission before putting it in. Should be a fun one!
