I'm inclined to take the runner at their word that no mods were used. I'll be testing other ways to replicate the time. @mbahwin Does having more windows open affect your text speed, etc.?
The Coffee Talk 2 leaderboards are now live: https://www.speedrun.com/coffee_talk_episode_2_hibiscus_and_butterfly/full_game?h=Perfect_Service_One_Run-PC&x=xd1on47k-r8rewj0l.qznn538q
Thanks for doing that. Even if it isn't required by game, I'm still keeping the item giving in the route, since that's technically what the customers requested. The exception is the fidget spinner; it doesn't seem to add anything but extra dialogue, at least for a One Run run.
Not every game needs an Any%, and I think this is a good example of one that doesn't. In fact, this is One-Run is probably the closest thing to it. If my route is confirmed, then I'll look into True Ending, but this drink order needs to be correct first.
Thanks. Basically, I think the point of the route will be to get the "Local Favorite" achievement, as well as give everyone their items, and I believe that this route achieves that, but that's where double-checking is much appreciated.
Hello, baristas. To my knowledge, the route in Guides should work well and be accurate. I will wait a bit longer for anyone to find inaccuracies; if there are none, I will then add that category to the leaderboards.
Loading times are different, that's why they're split; it's significantly faster on PC. (I always advocate for PC/Console splits, so this is likely to stay regardless.)
I split console and PC because of load time differences. If it’s determined to be negligible, then I’ll just combine them.
Thanks for your interest. This game is not popular enough to warrant new categories. The current ones encapsulate what the game has to offer.
Just Any% for now. I was mostly going to work off of the 5 year old video, but maybe that's not a good idea? Is there any way we can manually calculate remove load times (BioShock does this for console sometimes)? I'm assuming there's not nearly enough activity/interest to split PC/console yet, which is very fair.
Thanks! If precision is the only issue, does that mean console could theoretically match PC times with practice, or are there certain things that are FPS-locked, patched, etc.? Additionally, how up to date are the guides listed here?
I'm not sure if the Switch console should be added to the consoles list, but is adding even worth it? How much slower would it be over the strats on PC? I'm assuming it's not worth splitting the game between console and PC at the moment either.
Is there any reason to split the PC and console version? The Vita and Switch versions are naturally going to be slower on drinks, you can't mix a drink before the transition screen is over, text doesn't start skipping until a little while after pressing A, AND the Switch has the option to shake for a quick blend. I would say it's a different experience and warrants its won category. Thoughts?
