We can re-submit the 59 minute run if DrSakenomi wants, but it is an Any% run. Just because you find a skip doesn't mean that stuff before it isn't Any%.
Sounds good, let me know when you have a glitchless run ready to submit and I will make a board for it!
I am not certain that we need a glitchless category. All of the current runs are Any% runs - they are just slower than the new strats you're talking about, but still Any%. If someone feels strongly they want to run a glitchless category we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
I sent you a message looking for clarification about the new strats.
I tend to agree with you about menuing being dumb and painful. We can leave this comment up and make the change if there is no outcry after a while.
Could we create an original mode category (10 Rounds)?
Thinking of picking this up. Are there significant speedrun differences between EU and JP versions?
Hey there, thinking about taking a crack at this game. Any reason Fusion364 (Kega) is disallowed? I don't run a lot of Genesis titles but Fusion is allowed for Sonic 2 (as an example) so I assume it should be safe.
Hey Krolm,
It has been a long while since I touched this speedrun but yes we did come up with a route. I worked with @DrSakenomi. The guides we put together are here: https://www.speedrun.com/saint_seiya_ougon_densetsu/guides
Sakenomi is in France and we discussed the run a bunch back then. One of the guides is my English-language translation of his French original. I made maps of the town and cave section which are there.
Let me know if you need any info you can't find.
Cheers,
Zericc
Our speedrunning club, Board Boosters, will be speedrunning Corridor 7: Alien Invasion in February 2024. Reach out to connect with us if you want to join in!
Board Boosters is a speedrunning club. We pick games with a small community and small number of runs on SRC and we speedrun that game for a month. This month (December 2023) we are speedrunning The Ignition Factor. If you want more info or want to join the boost, please DM me for info!
Would folks consider a Flutterbug Road category?
Edit: Nevermind it exists lol.
Hi folks! Us at Board Boosters will be speedrunning Organ Trail in October. If you want to join us or get to know what we're about, this is our discord: https://discord.gg/zzRah7MB
Board Boosters is a club that speedruns games to show them and their smaller runner communities some love.
When it comes to the last level, what informs when you pop up to attack? Do you have to kill the hermit crab enemies or is it just easier than avoiding them?
Thank you for this post! I appreciate any notes you have and this is already very helpful.
I am interested in this run but there isn't much by way of documentation here. Any pointers or guides? I don't understand why the WR doesn't take the green pickups in the first two levels, for example. What is the optimal route, and why?
