In 2012 a user by the name of Jlun2 made a TAS of this game and in it was a way to get out of bounds by crouching in a tunnel. We've been trying to replicate it for a while and thought it maybe TAS only but I now have a way to do it. You hold down (crouch) for 22 frames exactly, then hold A + direction the tunnel is for 2 frames. You will now be standing slightly in the tunnel where you can now jump and clip below the floor. This can be replicated wherever there is a tunnel I think, I haven't tested everywhere. This all sounds impossible but it is definitely a feel based trick so the more you get it the more you get a feel for timing. Also made a vid for more help
Update: Clipping to the right direction has a longer wait time. When crouching, hold down slightly longer than normal then hit right and jump and you should get it. Doing this trick to the left is 22 frames of crouching, while doing this trick to the right is a bit more than 22. Hope that helps, 3-4 is a tad more forgiving now with resets
On 4-2 at the beginning of the level I dashed into the direction of the wind causing Spongebob to go out of bounds. I was playing around with this and managed to go under the level and continued gliding causing the camera to move right. At one point I made spongebob jump meaning he was on a platform instead of just falling. This did nothing until I paused twice in succession and pressed L which COMPLETED THE LEVEL. This could've been just a 1 in a million coincidence but I'm gonna record on obs to see if I can recreate it.
So I was able to recreate it but not much of a timesaver lol. I found out that you can pause while gliding out of bounds causing the wind to stop but spongebob to continue moving which could be a timesaver but didn't record it. I'm gonna play around some more soon and maybe see if this could be faster then normal route but I have doubts it will
Not sure if this was already used but I found that while facing the opposite direction, dashing then hitting right, followed by a jump right after you get a faster jump at what looks like a slightly different angle too. It's not crazy but it does save some minor bumps in the any% run. I clipped 1-3 and 2-3 for ways this can save time and want to find more saves this can do.
