I'm not going to add a category that allows save states. 99.9% of moderators on this website would say the same thing. If you're having tech issues, sort them out before trying to speedrun the game. I've seen multiple videos of people who were able to calibrate the light gun and obviously I've done it myself.
The reason your aiming isn't accurate isn't because emulators are incapable of mapping mouse positions to light gun. It's because you haven't calibrated the light gun. If emulators weren't capable of running the game well, the solution wouldn't be to allow cheating. The solution would be to ban emulator runs.
By the way, the term "single segment" is redundant. A segmented run is when someone splices multiple parts of a run to make one video. A single segment run is just any actual speedrun. What you're describing is a 1cc (1 credit clear), but without being able to fail a stage which is totally arbitrary.
Save states are not a feature of the game. They are an emulator feature which is universally agreed to be cheating. Binding two characters to one input is also something that is only possible through emulator, and is therefore also cheating. What you've proposed is that the leaderboard categories should be cheating, more cheating, and an unnecessary restriction that only changes how one stage is played (which is the only difference between a speedrun and a high-score run).
I don't think anyone else would want to run the game with save states or want to be on a leaderboard that allows them. I don't think it would even occur to anyone else that that would ever be allowed on a speedrun leaderboard.
When playing on Flycast Dojo the game doesn't pause on the title of each stage like on a real NAOMI, you can just mash enter to start the next stage immediately. Regular Flycast doesn't have this problem. When anyone submits a new run, please use regular Flycast or any emulator that runs correctly. I'll wait until someone submits a run to update the rules and clear the runs that use Flycast Dojo.
When selecting your character, choose AUTO instead of SEMIAUTO. The differences between the three power up modes are explained in the guide: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/arcade/568694-sexy-parodius/faqs/22839 .
As far as I know I'm the only person to speedrun this game, so there isn't one. If you want you can join my stream discord and we can talk about it there. https://discord.gg/YpfenT5r
I haven't played the game in a while so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to remember.
Same thing happened to me just now.
Requesting moderation of https://www.speedrun.com/l3ldzl and removal of the other moderators. The moderators have been offline for 22 days, 6 months, 1 year, and 4 years respectively. I have many runs/ILs waiting for verification. I'm the only person who has run the game in the past 4 years and the only person who has any plans to run it (as far as I know). I've contacted the mods on Twitter.
EDIT: One moderator did approve my runs, but said neither of them had time to follow the leaderboard. He couldn't add me as a moderator because he's not a super moderator and I don't know when/if the super moderator will come online to add me.
What platform do I select for a game on the Super Cassette Vision? I don't know if there is one that is applicable that I just don't recognize or if it has just not been added to the list yet.
The traps are just the things that make stuff fall from the top of the screen (rocks or bottles). They are invisible unless you use the goggles. They have fixed locations on certain screens (at least one screen in every stage has traps), but they behave like enemies in terms of spawning. If a trap isn't there it's because it didn't spawn, either because the route you took caused there to already be too many enemies on screen or you entered/exited a room which despawns everything. I tried mapping all the trap locations once, but gave up after realizing they were very inconsistent in terms of which ones actually spawned. The traps are the circles on the wall in this screenshot.
Radio: All three characters can use this. You use it to switch to another character on the fly, at any time, except during a conversation. You can't switch to a captured partner, obviously.
Ruby Ring: You'll need this to bribe some characters into helping you.
Lupin-exclusive items:
Vest: You'll be protected for one hit for each one you pick up.
Shotgun: Use this and you'll get a few three-way gunshots. But, you get knocked back a bit when you fire the weapon, so be careful.
Goggles: They help you find traps in some stages.
Bombs: They destroy all enemies on screen and open doors and passageways. Hint - use them on the fireplaces in stage one...
Jetpacks: Use them to fly around the stage. Get hit and you'll fall down.
Oxygen tanks: You need these to swim around. Some stages -require you- to go down and swim.
Balloons: If you fall down a hole, you'll be saved by this. You can shoot your gun and maneuver a bit while floating, but the balloon will pop after a few seconds of flight.
Tell me if you need any clarification or have any other questions.
How long should I wait after submitting a run/contacting moderators before I should request to be a moderator? This is the board by the way https://www.speedrun.com/Lupin_the_3rd_Lupin_is_dead_Zenigata_is_in_love . I submitted runs 10 days ago and tried contacting the mods that seem to still be around yesterday and today.
On the home page two of my runs appear at the top of the latest runs list, even though they're very old.
