When you submit a run, a verifier will re-time your run for you so you dont need to worry about being exact with the time yourself.
yeah it most consistent on 60fps
Yeah it kind of sucks. You just gotta hope you get it.
I'm not sure how it works since I don't know much about game development but for now, all we know is to aim around the top of the pole and run the wire into the pole after shooting your hand. pretty much you gotta just hope you get it first try.
Also dont feel stressed about using every single skip. You can use a few and then add more to your runs as you get better
For now it seems to be completely rng, but I found for me that 60 fps is more consistent
I will try to explain it the best I can; basically when you want to normally skip the tape, you hold the letter 'x' on your keyboard (as indicated on the bottom right) until the tape has been skipped. To perform this skip, you must wait until the prompt is given to skip on the bottom right. Once this happens start holding 'x' on your keyboard. Now, pause the game using the 'esc' key on your keyboard while continuing to hold x. It you stop holding x while paused, then this will not work. You must keep holding 'x' until the skip prompt on the bottom right disappears, as this indicates that the tape has finished skipping. at this point, you can unpause the game and the tape should have skipped.
Does anyone have the issue where your game crashes almost every time you die?
RTA stands for Real Time Attack. This basically means the total time you take from the moment you start your run to the end of it, including moments where the runner has the game paused or is dead. LRT stands for Load Removed Time. This is the time of a run that is used to actually time the run. It removes moments where the game is paused or you are not in current gameplay. You don't have to time this yourself because livesplit has an autosplitter that you can use by typing in poppy playtime chapter 1. Usually runners don't spend that much time paused so that is why the times are pretty similar.
There is only a certain part of the conveyor where your hand can clip through the glass. You can watch my run or other people's runs to see where they grab it from. Make sure that you are pushed up to the glass as close as possible too. I like to just spam click on it and move with the toy until I grab it. Hope this helps!
about the new skip with the power poles: I have been able to do it but it feels super inconsistent. Is there a way to consistently get it to work or is it mostly rng?
Alright, thanks for the help!
I feel like I saw a post on this before but I couldn't find it so I just decided to ask here. So for some reason when I do the time save by loading save while rolling down the conveyor after the red hand room, the timer just doesn't resume. I have never had this problem when doing runs before and I cant find a way to fix it.
I am glad to see that the mines leaderboard has been re-opened for runs, but I do still have a question. I was originally expecting a leaderboard wipe due to the changes to the seek dam, however I see that this has not happened. Is this still going to happen, or do you think new records are still going to be achievable after the changes?
As of the time I am writing this, 18 days ago, it was announced that the mines board would be on a two-week hold due to the changes being made. I was wondering if it was pushed back further since it has been over two weeks now. If anyone has answers, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
