the easiest way is probably just to time demos, so you'd set your speedrun_save to 19 and then time the 19, e00, e01, and e02 demos that get saved with the demo timer. if you want splits its probably best just to make a separate splits file with only those chambers.

make sure you are starting with the "speedrun_start" command, and if you are using vault save then do the command "speedrun_save vault". the demos will be located in unpack/portal. a folder will be created as soon as you run the speedrun_start command so you can check if it is working right away. if you are still having trouble, join the portal speedrunning discord server and we can help you further from there.

Hello! Livesplit wouldnt work in this case, but that's ok, you can submit a run using the time from the demos. If you want to watch the run back, there is a tool in the resources section called the Startdemos Creator (as far as i'm aware it does not work for the steam version of the game if you happen to be using that). Follow the ReadMe file included in that tool and you should be able to play back the demos in one go and record it as well.

it sounds like youre using the "record" command instead of the auto demo recorder. the auto demo recorder can be downloaded in the resources section, or it is built it and automatically set up in the Source Unpack version of the game which is highly recommended to install. if you already have source unpack do the commands: speedrun_save vault, and then use speedrun_start to start all of your runs going forward.

you can change it to either 80 or 95

you might have the start/split option bound in the settings, remove all of the binds in the livesplit settings

Demos are required for IL (individual level) submissions so you would not be able to submit IL's on the console version of the game unfortunately.

it needs to be a crouch+jump, on your first attempt, the jump was too early, the 2nd attempt the jump was too late, the 3rd was just an unlucky portal boost. everyone does this part a bit different but what i do is immediately start air strafing and stop holding w after jumping out of the portal and that usually gives me good speed. this is how it looks in my pb

make sure you enable the auto splitter in livesplit in the "edit splits" section, also make sure its set to compare against game time instead of real time.

i assume you're doing the 04 save glitch- try standing a little more to the right. you dont want to be directly on top of it but a little off to the side in either direction to get save glitch to work
