I changed the Emulator board a small bit, it now allows Digital runs (as in loading the game from an HDD or SSD). Using optical Media is for the main board, but if you want to use Digital ways to play the game, you can submit it on the Emulator/Digital board!
I actually made a Tutorial for TZA PC like 2 months after you've asked but I completely forgot to reply. A bit late but here it is
I'm greatly interested in your approach of this category :)
I'm not a mod, however there usualy needs to be atleast 1 run done first before we consider adding a new category to the board.
Hi, I've been wondering how the game runs at 1080p 60 (or higher) FPS on a 3060. I need to make a PC upgrade anyway but I am wondering if the game runs well enough while streaming to consider the 3060 purchase. But on the otherhand I don't really want to pay 2k for a 4090 either. So I thought I might ask here.
I think we would have to count textboxes, which to my knowledge hasn't been done by anyone at all.
I noticed there is a JP category. Out of curiosity, why? Does JP change anything? Could I just use japanese as language and run that to submit to the boards? I would love to learn what the differences are if there are any!
We're currently in discussion, because that's a HUGE thing to deal with. Patching out one of the biggest glitches in the run probably means big changes to the LB and submissions aswell.
So, I started having some wrist pain in my right hand from all the mashing that I've been doing over my 7 years of speedrunning. I think, IMO, we should allow Turbo for PC since it's something everyone who can run PC, can do since it is all based on Settings that you can access on your Steam account. This prevents long term damage for your hands and encourages more players to run the game due to the game then being more accessible to people who have such a condition. I would love to add this accessibility feature for PC runs. It doesn't have to be added for other consoles, but atleast for PC, where everyone can get this to work for themselves. Thoughts on this idea?
There is no guide for TZA on PC as of yet. You might be able to catch the FFrelay live (which starts on the 28th of may RPGLimitbreak channel) where we will race FF12 TZA on PC. Maybe this would be able to help as a guide ?
IIRC, Barbatos did Speedrun FFXV like that for atleast a year. So yeah, from what I know, this shouldn't be an issue.
Is it possible for one of the other mods to verify this run ? I know I can do it myself but verifying my own run always seems so weird. I would love to have the confirmation of the other community members that they also declare this run as legit.
I got this game like 1 or 2 years go at a gaming convention. The guy I bought it from, had my different video games and also a bunch of imported games, like the Berserk game :)
Can I help out being a moderator ? I made some directional notes (written down where to go and what to upgrade when) for the game, would like to add that. It is not perfect by any means, but its atleast something we can work with.
A co op run ? I'd love to watch that. Co op PS2 runs these days are an insane rarity.
There are a lot of pros, too many to be able to list them all.
Positive:
- Ice cream machine
- Infodesk was always able to help huge respect to those guys +++ Feasel did an AMAZING job with the tournaments, the etup planning and everything
- Traveling is made a lot easier due to QHV having a really good location.
- I have mixed feelings about the Stream schedule but it was generaly ok.
- We were able to talk to Edenal in Person. In a lot of other events, being able to just talk to the organazier is not really a thing. For me thats pretty huge and I appreciate it a lot. +++ Huge shoutouts go to AuraXBorea, she helped clean the room by her own will and this is something you don't really see these days.
Cons:
-This is the con about the 20$% and 25$% run I thoroughly enjoyed the 20$% Yakuza run, haven't had such a cramps from laughing in a long time. BUT, I'm almost sure Stream 1 didn't enjoy it when it got THIS loud on stream 2. Because the same thing happend to us during our run on stream 2 while the GTA Vice City 25$% run happend. It was noisy, loud, and just almost impossible to hear anything that happens besides the other stream. I was connected with my runner and the came via a "noise canceling headset", which didn't really work since I was not able to hear the game or my runner when he was commenting the run, I only heard stream 1 going crazy loud during the GTA run, My runner and the hosts were almost just a muffle in the background it was that hard to hear anything. We even asked if there were donations and (sometimes) weren't even heard by the hosts. Even after our run ended, people who were in the audience for the Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age run, came up and were complaining that it was incredibly loud, and really hard to understand anything. They even mentioned that twitch chat didnt like it either.
Idea to handle(?): If those 20$%/25$% runs happen again (and I hope they will, they are amazing) Then please do them on Stream 1 AFTER Stream 2 already finished. Or do it in a way so that no other Stream gets interrupted by the other one being loud.
Hi, I started running Steam Hard mode FFIV
Now I want to ask, if there were more ppl running it, would it make sense to open a leaderboard for it ? I grew up with the DS version (only hard mode available on there) and thought I could subit Hard mode. For now though I'd just submit the run to PC. Hope we can work something out.
