If I wanted to play at 100 FPS, would I be allowed to do that by setting my monitor's refresh rate to 100 hz and enabling v-sync? Or are we only allowed to set the FPS limit to 15, 20, 25, 30, 60 or Unlimited under the Performance settings? I just want to make sure before I start speedrunning this game again.
The main issue here is that we don't want to have requirements that prevent someone from playing without purchasing special hardware. The two big considerations here are the Obelisk Cube jump, which uses V-Sync for consistency, and the Transcendence run, which uses a custom FPS setup for a cube jump.
Chatting with people in the discord, mostly it seems better to not allow V-Sync, because of the hardware concern you mentioned, but to continue to allow custom FPS setups. In other words, if you want to tweak your settings before the start of every run to get 100 FPS, then use the preset "lowest" and change them back, that's OK.
Makes sense... thanks for the quick response. Just curious, but what cube jump requires a custom FPS setup for the Transcendence speedrun category? I've seen the Obelisk CJ before, and it looks really stylish.
