How do you do fast inputs to exit or quit the game without having to scroll the pointer? I find myself using the pointer for all these inputs and it loses me like a minite at least.

You should be able to use your mouse's left click while in the pause menu to exit level. It should be just like clicking on anything else on your computer. There is a weird method that uses a glitch with right clicking but that isn't too helpful with menuing if you learn where the buttons are on the screen.
