I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but how do I time demos? Do I need to install a program or do I just use a timer? Also, How do I find out how many ticks are in a demo?

Don't use listdemo, thats more useful for segmented runs. Use the resoruce below it, that is actually titled "Portal Demo Timer" it doesnt matter where you extract it from there, you simply open the program, and then: -go to file -> open -select your demos
