I am spanish, and I always play the game in spanish, so I would prefer to play it in spanish, and its unfair to have to be yes or yes in english for all the people that speak like first language another language that is not the english one >:(
I think that maybe is because another languages can be faster, but dude, I dont like it. And, in all case, the english is one of the faster languajes can be used in Europe mode lul lol lmfao, minimum is faster tan spanish, so pls
@wartab that I mean, I look unfair to cant submit if I play in another language that is not english, to cant be accepted only because of that
It will meaning create categories for others languages. It's possible for the run in Japanese in some games (like gen 5) but I don't think it would be done for Sword and shield because current Japanese runners play in English
imo its not a big problem, just use english literally every aspect of the game besides text is the same
@KilleDragon , Having to play in English to appear on the main leaderboard is a rule that has existed since Red's first Any% Glitchless record in 2008. Instead of being unfair, this allows a total speed equality in all dialogues, in all games of all generations, from the first to the 8th.
In addition, absolutely all guides, all documentation, as well as all discussions about Pokémon speedruns on its discord are done in English. Due to the constant use of proper nouns in these (pokémons, attacks, towns) using a different language to make a speedrun is, without a doubt, counterproductive.
Finally, unlike other generations where you had to buy a cartridge per language, Pokémon Sword & Shield allows you to select English from the introduction screen.
I hope I have answered the question raised by the title of your topic. But please don't pretend it's unfair. Because it's wrong.
Turbo is now allowed for all categories in the Let's Go and Sword/Shield category extensions leaderboards!
