0 star is a made up terminology for when you get 0 stars in a level. So basically, when you complete a stage, you get stars according to your coins collected in said stage.

• 1+ coins = 1 star.
• Half the stages coins = 2 stars.
• All the stages coins = 3 stars.
• And 0 coins = 0 stars.

Getting less stars means less delay between each stage, therefore a faster time. 0 stars will maybe save you 0.33s at most on each stage, while 3 star will delay you by .33s each stage. This could be important later when deathless runs are more common. Obviously not all stages will be 0 star, but every stage is possible to not get 3 star (WORLD A) a good example of this is A 6-3. you can do a very tricky timing to skip one coin, therefore missing 3 star.

I didn’t realize this at the very start of running this game but his helps a lot! When the WR becomes deathless we can time in milliseconds just to be sure of the time differences.
