Runs of this game primarily utilize Ron.  While Harry has a higher attacking speed, Ron's higher movement speed and the enemy patterns make Ron significantly faster.  Also, his higher defense means that the run is a little safer.
In this game, purchasing enemy cards allows you to deal double damage on most enemies, since we fight a lot of some enemies and we collect a lot of beans as it is, buying certain cards is extrememly beneficial.
If you really want to choose a specific language Danish (Dansk) is the fastest, but it likely only saves a few seconds over the entire run.

Campsite: Dropping rocks on Dugbogs as their heads are popping out of the ground kills them in one shot, this can be utilized on the first dugbog fight.

DADA: Buy the Dugbog card as soon as you hit 100 beans.  If you hit 200 beans before the end of the level (after buying Dugbog) buy Bowtruckle and Erkling, otherwise just buy Bowtruckle.

Forest: Bubotubers drop a lot of beans, but can be kind of slow to kill, balance which ones you kill with which ones you tank (don't go after the beans, Harry and Hermione will do that for you).  http://imgur.com/oqNtH4q You can repair and levitate this statue while the bushes are burning.  http://imgur.com/jQBJscQ The Salamander in this room unlocks the card when you beat it, buy the card right after. First Task: Autoscroller.

Yule Ball: You need 100 points, Amazing gives 4, Great gives 3, Terrible 2, and Truly Awful 1, theres like 200 possible points so it should be pretty easy.

Prefects Bathroom: The cursor resets to Harry when you enter this stage, make sure you choose Ron.  http://imgur.com/L1moAYq This chest unlocks the Vampyr Mosp card, buy it and Erkling as soon as you get it.

Care of Magical Creatures: If you're really lucky, you can get two of the baby skrewts into a single chest (frame perfect and RNG based).  During the Adult Skrewt sections, depending on the CONSOLE that you are playing on, Ron can blow up the Pumpkins with his A button moves.  This works on DS and certain versions of VBA, while it does not work on GameBoy Player or the GBA.

Characters:

Harry has the most attack, second most speed, and lowest defence.

Ron has the second most attack, most speed, and second most defence.

Hermione has the lowest attack, lowest speed, and highest defence.

Because of her low attack/speed, Hermione is a bad character choice. It is currently unknown whether Ron or Harry is the better choice, Ron may be slightly better because of the speed advantage, and Harry is still controlled by the game in levels. The movement difference between Ron and Harry is minimal, but it adds up over time.

Languages:

The text is very fast and can be mashed through, but there are a few text boxes that cannot be mashed past. Italian might be better, but still needs to be tested.

Fairly straightforward, no tricks here.

Defence Against the Dark Arts:

Slow level, lots of waiting. No tricks here.

Forbidden Forest:

When an item you can grab with Wingardium Leviosa is behind a burnable bush, you can drag the item through the bush without burning it.

salamanders suck, make sure you stand near the water when fighting them. Due to Wingardium's low movement distance, if you are too far from the water, the salamander will escape, restarting the fight.

Hey everyone. Today we have a small update for you all regarding some changes to the rules regarding recordings of runs.
