A new autosplitter/load remover for Windows, Mac and Linux has been made available for run submissions. For information and installation instructions, see https://github.com/AlexKnauth/hollowknight-autosplit-wasm.
The timing rules have been updated; new submissions must now declare a "Load Remover" variable as follows:
- "None" if no autosplitter was used
- "Default" for the standard autosplitter in Livesplit
- "WASM" for the new cross-platform autosplitter
While the WASM autosplitter has been tested over several months, it is still possible that timing discrepancies may be found once it is actively in use. SRC mods will decide how to handle these on a case-by-case basis, but our preferred solution will be to retime/penalize WASM runs to be in line with the standard autosplitter.
- The airwalk rule has been clarified to include maintaining Sprintmaster walking speed midair as an example of illegal benefit.
- A rule has been added to clearly ban clipping underwater.
- Guidelines have been added for major glitches that save less than 1 second and provide no other benefits to receive a 2 second penalty, rather than rejection. Additional details on what circumstances qualify for penalties are included in the rules.
For more details, see the NMG rules and latest changes.
Rules Change
Title screen may now be shown at any point during a run, so long as you add a timestamp with your submission. IL runs are unaffected.
You may resubmit runs rejected under the old ruling if you wish for them to be verified.
New Ruling Text
Video evidence must show the Title Screen either at the start of the run, or at a timestamp given in the run description. The Title Screen must be clearly visible, with a legible version number. IL runs may omit the timestamp, but must still show the Title Screen.
