Due to the fact that difficulty changes very little about the any% category except in Bangkok exits, the decision has been made to remove difficulty as a variable for any%. Removing difficulty as a variable for any% has the benefits of decreasing redundant runs on multiple difficulties, as well as sticking to the idea any% should not involve any arbitrary restrictions
Due to speedrun.com UI limitations, we cannot assign difficulty to SA and not any% in full game, so for full game any% runs just submit to "professional", no matter what difficulty you played on.
Difficulty will remain a subcategory for SA and SASO runs.
This decision will carry over to Hitman 3 as well.
There was never a 1:13 SA or SASO Nightcall as far as I know, you are mistaken. Also, this is not the right thread to bring that up :P
Update to rules regarding rating screens.
All SA and SASO runs will still require rating screens due to possible discrepancy between SA Indicator HUD and rating screen's SA rank.
If no rating screen is available (for any% runs), submit the time on the timer HUD for Freeform Training, Final Test, Paris Helicopter Exit (as exits work different for these levels).
For every other level/ exit, if no rating screen is available (for any% runs), submit the time on the timer HUD +1 second (to account for possible discrepancies in timing).
Rules Update
- Future submissions (as of September 20, 2021) must have game audio audible in the background, due to concerns of splicing and/ or slowing down the game and speeding up recording later
- Future individual level submissions (as of September 20, 2021) must be a continuous video without recording skips or splices. Submissions with any kind of recording skip will require a backup recording without skips, whether that be through Twitch/ Youtube livestream, or even pointing an external camera (like phone camera) at your TV/ PC screen.
- Minor recording skips are allowed on console full game runs (at moderator discretion), while PC full game runs will need a seamless recording to be verified.
The Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 (2018) games will be de-listed starting January 26, 2023.
If you had any interest whatsoever in trying out the 2016 and 2018 game engines, now's the time to buy those games.
Hitman 2016 is probably the most
