Yo, I am new to this game I only picked it up recently but I am looking to start trying to run the game. Do we have any resources or routes for any%. I was going to try and mimic runs on here but if there is actual information I would be very interested
Welcome! I only have very brief, not very helpful notes saved. There's a couple of things I've figured out since my last upload though:
I found a pond wall breach spot which brings you out right by the fin flops cave, so that saves about 40 seconds of swimming. Haven't put it in a run yet but here's some screenshots https://imgur.com/a/odso21e . It's been a while since I did it but I think you wanna stand right up to the wall looking at that spot in the last screenshot and look up as far as you can but so that you can still place the lean-to. That should get you through the terrain behind.
Second thing is how to respawn way closer to the oak after grabbing the black anthill chip. You know if you don't have your spawn set at any beds or lean-tos and you hit respawn after dying it will spawn you at the nearest field shelter you've discovered as a landmark. This can be abused to choose where you respawn anywhere on the map. At the start of the run when you go to analyse you can use the analyser in the first field shelter, just make sure you don't discover it as a landmark. Then after the mystery machine (I think this would be the best place in the run to do it), run to the field shelter that's just southwest of the oak lab and stare at it until you discover it as a landmark. Final step is to unset your spawn from the lean-to after you've respawned from getting the haze chip but before you drop down to get the black anthill chip. Then just respawn as normal after collecting it and you should spawn at the field shelter right by the oak. If you forget to unset your spawn before dropping down you won't lose much time, just unset it and give up again. Might cost you 10 seconds at most.
If you can get a good run including these strats you'll smash my best time easy!
Thanks for the help man. I gotta get a lot of practice in before attempting a run but I am looking forward to it
