is the ps2 hdmi adaptor thing worth the purchase? its like 10$ but i wanna know if its good for speedruns

I’m gonna guess and say no. Any $10 converter for analog to digital is probably going to add delay/lag to your game capture feed or it will degrade the quality. Granted, I don’t exactly know the piece of hardware you’re talking about, so feel free to share a link to it.

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend that thing unless you’re fine with degrading your quality or inducing lag to the capture. I would always recommend an OSSC if you’re capturing via component or SCART, and a RetroTink 2x if you’re capturing via composite/s-video. The RT is going to be cheaper than an OSSC, but it’ll still run you about $100.
