Hi! New speedrunner here, I'm a bit confused on how the WR works, here are my main confusions:

1. How do you skip the bridge every time efficiently? I keep on getting it sometimes, and then not getting it other times, if there is a strategy to this, someone LMK-

2. How do you skip cutscenes without any wait to hold Z, I already have my dialogue skip on max, so I'm not sure what I'm missing.

3. How does the B-hopping work? Any good tutorials on how to do it?

4. How do you skip the cutscene directly after the bridge skip without getting teleported? Is it a line-up?

5. How do you make the yellow pit directly after the crane not teleport you to where you were standing, but teleport you back to the main square in town?

Sorry if my english is bad, English is my first and only language I just suck at typing-

this video explains things better than i'm able to! the start has information on what settings you should use and the beginning of the run, and information on the ascension route starts at 15 minutes. it's a little outdated but it's still a very helpful guide

1. you can still jump a little after running off the edge, which gives you the extra distance you need. also try to jump off the right side of the island when you're jumping to the other side

2. make sure dialogue skip speed is set to "immediate"

3. whenever you're on the ground for 1/10 of a second, your respawn point is saved. whenever you fall off the map, you're sent to that point. but if you keep jumping right after landing, which prevents a respawn point from being set, you'll be sent to the default respawn point(the main square) when you die. this is really hard, but you can set scroll wheel to jump to make it a little easier.

***there's also a much easier and slightly slower trick explained at 17 minutes in the video. I WOULD RECOMMEND learning this first, and learning the bhop strat once you get comfortable speedrunning the game, because bhopping across the river is very hard

if you're talking about the camera flicking, you get a small speed boost when you flick the camera when jumping or right after jumping. just hold forward, don't strafe with a or d. it saves maybe 4-6 seconds throughout the run, and can lose time if you do it wrong, so i wouldn't start off doing it (unless you like doing it)(it's addicting)(the flick beckons you)

4. start moving left immediately after reaching the other side. if you're too far right, the game counts you as out of bounds and teleports you

5. see 3
