There are 12 possible combinations: Mace ,Sword, Axe in right hand. Mace, Sword, Axe , Shield in left hand.

Having high damge weapons in right hand will benefit your overall DPS as long as you have a fast weapon in the left hand.

If you want something balance go for a sword which is faster than axe and slower than mace and cause of it's beetween speed just go for the shield bonus stats like defense and HP.

Speed it's not a problem you just want big numbers well go for an axe it has the most damage output of all and you can go for rare axe will give more stats, also get a shield since you will be slow and extra defense and HP will be useful.
