Hi all,
Firstly, a quick thank you to all the new runners we've had submissions from in the last few months. It's great to see more people recognising W:A as a speedrunning game, and we hope y'all keep on working on your PBs!
As noted in the Game Rules, we reserve the right to update the rules based on recurring trends we've seen in the submissions, and we've added a couple of new ones to address some patterns in submissions we've had recently. Here's a quick summary:
GAME AUDIO (all categories) Going forward, we require all submissions to have the game audio audible throughout the video. We don't mind if it's a little quiet, but if your video has no audio or has muted sections due to copyrighted audio we reserve the right to reject these runs. This is a rule that many leaderboards on SRC have, and it is there to make it easier to discern if any future submissions have been spliced or not. (Just to be clear, we haven't suspected splicing in any runs submitted thus far - it's simply to safeguard against future growth in run submissions.)
EDITING/TIMESTAMPING VIDEOS (10 Quick Games) If you're submitting a 10 Quick Games run from a longer run of quick games, please ensure that you either edit your submission video down to just the consecutive run of 10 games you want us to measure or - if you are unable to do this - clearly timestamp the video so that the mods know where exactly you want us to measure the run from. If this is not immediately clear in a submitted run, we reserve the right to reject it.
If you have any questions on either of these new rules, please feel free to discuss it either in the Worms Speedrunning Discord server or in the comments below.
Thanks! RB
