Category split is done. All Levels is now the default category and there is a new Any%.
yeah I think any% needs to be a new category and the current any% is going to be All Levels
Hey everyone, I recently took over the board as a mod and noticed that there are inconsistencies in how runs were timed. I decided to pick one specific timing (matching the game rules, and with console timing), and apply it across all runs. This results in the SNES Any% record being 3:25.744 instead of 3:25.730, as specified in @LylatR's thread. I've also deleted any runs that didn't have proper video.
I've done my best, but if any of the timings seem wrong please let me know and I'll double check.
I'm not opposed to adding ILs if there's some demand for it, we would have to come up with consistent timings for all of them.
This is a general OBS issue with PC games. Try running the game at a lower video quality, or try switching OBS's video encoding to software if you're using hardware.
there aren't any guides or anything if that's what you're looking for. this is a pretty straightforward platformer, so I would just play the game casually once to get comfortable with the controls, then check out callum's run for routing through the levels.
Hey, people have been trying to post times to What Remains of Edith Finch and have not been able to get their runs verified. Could I be made a moderator of this page? It also needs to be cleaned up quite a bit. Please add me if you can!
Could we circle back to this? Neither mod has logged on in 3 months and both twitter accounts they have linked are suspended or gone. I'd be happy with me and/or @Duders getting mod here, but I've been waiting for months to get a run verified.
Go ahead and make another leaderboard as The Pagemaster (SNES), we can group them under a larger Pagemaster series if we want to. Just be sure to have a completed run of the game before you request the new leaderboard.
It was honestly just a guess on my part. I've found especially during screen transitions that I could jump just before hitting certain death and escape it. It's definitely a tight frame window.
My instinct is that the European version is faster because it allows for long falls.
I'd like my name changed to just sharif. Thanks!
I hadn't even started thinking about return aces, so this is really useful info. The only strats that have worked for me in Wall 2 are basically granny strats. Try to stay in the middle of the court, far enough away that the lobs don't go over your head and close enough that you can catch up to the drop shots. Generally a little behind the center line. Any strat that involving avoiding the panels has ended is disaster for me. Wall 1 is somewhat easier as staying up close to the wall and lobbing over the panel when it swings down works fairly consistently.
