As of Version 1.0.9, car categories have been totally revised due to the actual categories in-game being introduced. Additionally, the rallies are now restricted based on car category, meaning all runs in cars that are now not allowed will be moved to a new "pre 1.0.9" category and all runs that abide by the current restrictions will remain.
We will figure out solutions for 100%, as well as the open rallies regarding categories for cars soon.
Expect to see a number of things shift around to accomodate the changes, and hopefully things won't look too ugly or complicated.

As of 22/04/2024, no modifications to the game files are allowed.
This applies for:
- Texture swaps (For example, the pssg files inside "DiRT 2\tracks" or "DiRT 2\cars")
- Cfg/xml file modifications (Such as 'hardware_settings_config.xml' in "DiRT 2\system", or "dirt2_game.exe.cfg")
- Modifications that add or modify files in the game (SweetFX or any kind of graphics filtering mods)
- Deleting files (Such as the video files inside "DiRT 2\video")
So, when was the last time the mod has been online? I don't see any runs getting verified for probably the next year or 2.
I've added a resource which contains the necessary setups for these 2 difficulties.

I hope someone out there who may run these categories one day finds this useful.
There is now a Discord server for this game! https://discord.gg/fXx6AuZ All are welcome!
Hello.
Due to the discrepancy of the in-game time across varying emulators as well as actual hardware (in addition to it going slower if music is disabled), the in-game timer will now be removed.
Thanks to all who have ran, or will run this game in the future.
Can you please add, PAL as a region for the game? Can you also please add GBP & GBI to the platforms list?
Thanks.
Can that possibly be added into the platforms? It exists on the "Namco Museum" cart.
Why is there no GBA version? The game was released on the "Namco Museum" cart so I don't see a reason why it isnt here.
Using my Dazzle, I got both my Xbox and PS2 working fine with s-video cables. I'm using Amarectv for video output.
The Game Cube is different, I also used s-video as a test and only got audio from the console, no video whatsoever. I tested some other video settings and only got fuzzy green video at the bottom of the screen.
Is my video cable faulty, or is it something to do with PAL GCs having problems with Dazzle?
Before anyone asks, yes the console does work using SCART to my TV.
Do you mind if we have a separate category for the different arcade difficulties in addition to having the full Arcade category?
In case I (or somebody else) were planning to run a specific difficulty on Arcade, it would be nice to have separate categories.
Considering this is a Game Boy Color game means it can be played on the Game Cube Game Boy Player as well as the Game Boy Interface alternative.
I hope we are all ok with that.
P.S Mike, if you approve of these changes, can you please edit your own run and change the platform?
We should do a novice% race of this at some point. It would be fun, what do y'all think?
So I did testing and its kinda hard to determine which is best. I know the Corolla is the worst car followed by either the Puma or Lancer. The best car is kinda difficult to decide on. The Focus is clearly a quick car but the Subaru isnt far behind, perhaps it might be better somehow.
Post anything, opinions, testing whatever and see what results we can come up with.
Since CMR 2.0 has the possibility of choosing what car you used for a run, can we have it here as well?
