Not quite enough time to finish Volume 2 today so tomorrow will do.

I will do the Epilogue after all. I will not be able to kill Gorothul at level 65ish so that single quest will be done at a higher level much later. I have easily solo'ed him with a 104 this afternoon as a test so it can be done.

I should finish Volume 2 today, during my stream but I still do not know what to do about the Epilogue.

Big problem with Volume 2 Epilogue.

Described in the Wiki as "The following quests are no longer part of the Epic story-line but still appear in that section of the Quest Log."

One of the Quests in there is "Gorothúl of Dol Guldur" which is to complete the instance "Samath Gul". It needs a fellowship of 6, I have looked around and seen experienced players of about 130 struggle to solo it, a level 65 Quest.

In view of the fact that the Wiki says it is no longer part of the Epic can I ignore the Epilogue as part of this run? It is the only quest which actually requires a full Fellowship. Even if I were to find a group to help me through they would probably be of such a high level that they would just carry me through it anyway.

From a personal viewpoint I should add that I am not part of a kinship, I solo everything including some instances. If the Epilogue is part of this I will not be able to complete the run.

I suggest adding something to say that shared currency cannot be used. My reasoning is that I could run with a character on my usual server and barter at the Skirmish camp and other places using currency generated by other characters, more or less the same as passing gear over to the running character. There are other items which are bound to the character which should be available to barter with that could be used during the run.

That would be any currency which is shown as green in the wallet cannot be spent, such as Marks from Skirmishes. Currency shown as white can be spent, such as Arnorian Coins from Evendim.

Thanks for doing that. Looks good. I am starting my 3rd go today (Epic VIP), just wasnt happy with how the first two were going so thought better to restart now than near the end (got to Volume 1, Book 7).

Something that has been bothering me is how the run can be checked. I have decided that I will do side quests until I feel happy that I can complete a book without interruptions then play through that book start to finish, probably one video. That would mean one video to check for every book, other videos being just normal gameplay.

I am going for it. I stream LOTRO 6 days a week for about 4 hours and something like this might be good to watch.

Zero XP to end of the Epic Quest, including Volume 5 and the Intro. Same rules as levelcap. Quests will be done in order ie no skipping something to go back to it if you see what I mean. I will timestamp the video for every Epic Quest in the video description to make it easier to check, I will also show the Quest Log to prove every quest has been completed. I am not sure what to do with splits, for example a split at the end of every "Book" would have been nice but there are 50 books so not very practical, maybe just "Volumes".

At the end of Volume 2 (Mirkwood) is/was an Epilogue which contains Fellowship quests which cannot be Solo'ed. The Official Wiki says the Epilogue is no longer part of the Epic so I will skip it entirely, ending Volume 2 with Book 9.

I will make use of the /played in chat, it shows how long since character creation. Just for extra proof so to speak.

Congratulations. I saw a lot of it on YouTube too.

Verification that the Epic has been completed in full can come from the Quest Log with the completed Quests tick box. When a Chapter is completed show the Log in the recording and submit the timestamp of that moment to make it easy to find, in fact a timestamp for every Epic Quest would be reasonable to me. Splits for each Book maybe? That way it would be possible to find a Chapter completion and verify that Quests were completed in order easily for moderation. Possibly a level cap of 105, not sure, Stone Of The Tortoise https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Item:Stone_of_the_Tortoise

I think 1 to the end of Epic Quest Volume 4 (The ring is destroyed) would be fitting. There is a Volume 5 which is only talking between the player character and various other characters, after the battle etc. If you want a shorter run I would say the end of Volume 1 (Angmar) capped at level 50 using The Stone Of The Tortoise.

Thing about anything later than the Epic is levels. Someone at 150 would finish the Black Book of Mordor very quickly and not on a level pegging with someone starting at 105 etc.

I was thinking of doing a run to max level but it occured to me that if someone sets a record for 140 and they raise the cap to 150 with an Expansion then the record for 140 would be worthless for that category.

However a run to Mordor might make more sense. The end of Volume 4 or 5. Available to VIP and FTP.

Same rules as everything else plus "Must include every Epic Quest, completed in order".
