Couldn't tell you about that specific run, but after what he has done, he really isn't welcome in the community anyways after being such a bigot, so good riddance. Not going to spew a giant story here about all of it, and after what was done no one should be talking or worrying about such negative people anyways. Our community and the speedrun community at large has no tolerance for any of that junk. Hope that answers any questions.
I would consider that emulator because it's not normal hardware/game cartridge.
This rom hack was submitted to speedrun.com before SMW Rom Hacks were accepted by series moderators. This is why this hack is not under the "SMW Rom Hack Series". You can find a few other hacks under the same situation. It isn't really an issue, it doesn't affect the leaderboard at all. It is just a byproduct of previous submission rules.

The gameplay does different a ton. Due to the framerate differences, the PAL version of the game alters Mario's speed. If you run the Pal ROM on an NTSC console, you get mario's faster speed at NTSC frame rate, which results in Mario Going even faster.
If you were to separate it into orb for In the 6, you'd have to do it with most other meme categories that allow it too. To be honest orb is not the hardest trick in the world if you sit down and practice, but even if you have trouble with it, you are still allowed to run without orb. I don't see the issue with the times being together. Speedrunning is all about whatever/however you want to play and run. Feel free to submit any valid time that you like. No one is forcing you to use a certain trick. You're allowed just play without it! :)

That's one of the main reasons why I haven't even bothered to run this game in ages. Moderation is a God damn nightmare. Mods are mods for a reason. They need to do their job and actually check what they are verifying. 3 of the current mods have been shown many times that they were approving obvious invalid runs that literally took only five seconds to tell that. It confuses the hell out of me that no one seems to care about this? Such a good game shouldn't have such shit speedrun community leaders.
I don't think anyone has ever bothered to look into it, but I feel different model Wiis may have different loading times. Ex: Original vs. newer black wii
The biggest issue for this game isn't even splicing on emulator. Splicing is easily noticeable for the most part. It is emulator load times. The only way emulators will ever be allowed, is if timing is changed from RTA (Real Time Attack) to IGT (In Game Time).
I would love to see IGT be implemented but it would take a ton of time fixing the current times.
Are you serious? This concerns me more that it wasn't only one mod, but TWO mods who approved these runs. It's not hard to spend 5 seconds looking at the video. Right away you can tell it's not an actual run. I feel like this isn't the first time false runs were just stupidly approved no issue too. I'm kinda questioning half the mods of this game..
I mean Mushroom Cup already does this, but I feel that this is the only cup where it is only reasonable. All the other cups are reset heavy and adding stuff like this will make it even worse.
